“Extraordinary level of service”
We chose Sebastian's because of its economical price, but were quite pleased with the hotel itself. The room was clean, had a comfortable queen sized bed, and a nice bathroom. Decor was simple but nice. The air conditioner was on and the room was cool when we arrived. The room was on a charming courtyard with a banana tree and tropical foliage. The hotel's restaurant overlooking the beach was very good, reasonably priced, and had good service. (Try Sebastian's banana rum.) But the mark of their excellent customer service was seen when I forgot a USB drive at the printer in their office and they delivered it to me about 12 miles away! That's an extraordinary level of service.
“Sebastian's was a surprise...mostly very pleasant”
The rooms were very nice...modern, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was good. We also visited the Sugar Mill Restaurant...a must! I tasted everyone's food and it was ALL marvelous. Our only disappointment was that the beach shown on the website is only present in the off months - we were told that it disappears every winter only to return in March. So, no relaxing on the beach just steps from our suites, BUT we huffed and puffed our way over the hill to Long Bay Beach, which was just beautiful. At our hotel, kids were surfing and triathalon competitors were training if that gives you any idea how calm the waters were. Went to sleep each night to the sound of pounding surf. The hotel is very unprepossesing when first you drive in but we stayed in the suites up the hill and they were very nice. Not what I had feared based on the initial impression we had as we arrived. The staff were very pleasant and courteous. I confess that I was delighted that our porter carried our luggage by truck up the hill to our rooms and we weren't responsible for getting them there. Taxis arrived exactly on time. I have absolutely no complaints and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone except those who are longing for a convenient beach. All in all, a very satisfactory experience although after 7 days on a sailing vessel, I was looking forward to lying on a white sand beach for a couple of days.
“Great Value”
Room was fantastic. The beach was right out of the Corona commercial. Next time we go to the BVI we will stay there.
“Tortola”
The BEST place to stay if you are attending the Full Moon Party. You won't find anything better!
“Nice Inexpensive Beach Hotel”
We stayed in one of the inner couryard rooms. The room was relatively simple to adequately furnished. There are more impressive beach front rooms, but we did not need this for this stay. The restaurant is beach front and the meals of good quality served by friendly staff.
“Nice Hotel”
Beautiful location. On beach with surfing, the waves break over a reef so its board suring not body surfing unless you have fins. Comfortable bed. Good restaraunt on site and great restaraunt within walking distance or short drive. We would certainly go back and recommend it to others.
“Capt. Scott's choice”
Very helpful staff, restaurant was on site and very good. I would book again when on Tortola.
“Casual quaint beach hotel”
The hotel is certainly not a five star but more than met our needs. Be careful choosing your room. We opted for a villa and are certainly glad we did. The villa rooms are just up the street from the main hotel and restaurant. They are very nicely appointed and very private. One needs a car as even though it is nicely situated between many beaches and town , nothing is within walking distance. The Sugar Mill restaurant just up the road is excellent.
“Would definitely go back”
I stayed in one of the backrooms without the ocean view. Accomodations were modest but comfortable, although you couldn't really take a hot shower if you wanted to. I was a few steps from their restaurant and the beach. Definitely a nice spot with a reasonable rate. I rented a car to get around the island as the taxi rates were really high.
“Great & Not so great”
Our room had sliding glass doors opening up to a great ocean view. In 30 steps we could touch the water. The food and drinks at the hotel, 60 steps away, were good quality with Caribbean prices. Our table was 10 feet from the water...another great view. The only down side was a couple folks - desk clerk & waitress who both were rude and incapable of smiling. We tried to avoid both of them and look for the smiling desk clerk (she worked at night) and the very nice evening waitress. Overall, if you are looking for a place to hang out for a few days by the water, hike a little, and ride bikes in the mountains this place is for you!
