"Nice hotel close Queen Street"
The room is comfortable; the balcony is very big; the staffer is very kindly; the view overlooking the park is very beautiful. The rent is reasonable, and moreover, the location is perfect, close to the Queen Street. You could do lots of shopping!

"Excellent location"
Great size and tastefully decorated rooms in excellent location. On the downside, room (particularly floors) could have been cleaner and some maintenance issues (eg, many powerpoints non-operational). Reception has short hours but staff generally obliging.

"Home From Home"
Had a lovely stay at One Thornbury, which is a large timber Queenslander style house. A very relaxed place and really friendly, easy going owners. There's a lovely paved garden area tucked away down the stairs and round the back which you wouldn't realise was there - it's a perfect spot to chill out and it's hard to believe it's only a 5 minute walk to the chaos of the Valley! I often stay in the Valley for work on the weekends and One Thornbury will now be my choice of stop over.

"Great hotel and fantastic location"
We arrived early and a room was available for us. So that was a good start. I had read some reviews about this hotel and most of them were negative. We had booked a flight/hotel package and were very happy with the price. When we arrived we were very pleased with the look of the hotel. Our room was spacious and clean. Some of the negative comments made were that the windows were dirty. Not in our room. We did not have the greatest view. We looked down on the air conditioning units and across to a brick wall. However, we were not concerned as it is hard in any hotel in the cbd to get a view as it is the city and there are buildings next to each other so what else could you expect?

"Great location and facilities for affordable price"
The location on Kangaroo Point is great, very close to Story Bridge, easy to drive to with easy access to airport, and walking distance of CBD and Southbank. Five minutes walk from the free City Hopper ferry also. Hotel facilities were excellent for the price, nice pool, lots of carparking etc Staff were very friendly and helpful. We even got upgraded to a very nice room with a separate lounge and bathroom.

"Great hotel to stay in Brisbane's CBD"
I've stayed at this hotel a few times now and I love it. With a little luck I always get rooms in high floors ( > 20th floor) which gives you a great view. All rooms I have stayed in had a little nook with tables and chairs and glass windows down to the floor like an indoor balcony. I enjoy looking down on Brisbane's busy streets and be surrounded by all the high buildings. The room is like a little apartment with a big fridge, a lounge area with TV and a separate bedroom which also has a TV and a king size bed (great for a couple). The bathroom is fitted with a proper well sized shower unlike some hotels which have the shower over the bathtub. The car park could need some improvement. When you arrive you drive down into the garage and park on a visitor car park. Then you take the elevator up to the reception for check-in. You need to dial a code to get the receptionist and they open the elevator for you. Then you check-in, get your key, go back down to your car and move it to the hotel guest parking zone which is locked with a roller door. You need your key to open it. Location is great if you want to be right in the city. Only a 5 min. walk to Queens St., the main shopping street in Brisbane. Lots of restaurants and an Irish Pub just minutes away. The hotel has a sauna and a gym but I haven't tried neither of them yet. A great place to stay.
