Although our bed was comfortable, the room temperature was very difficult to regulate, with our baby's cot directly under the air conditioning vent and a window that failed to open.

"Large room with good bathroom "
Good base for visiting Brighton and surrounding area without the parking hassles of being in the city. Hotel is about 1.5 miles from Brighton centre, but easy walk or buses every 7-10 minutes / lovely old electric railway along the seafront. Marina location means free parking during hotel stay + lots of chain restaurants to choose from. Hotel has large rooms throughout - plenty of white, bright space. A large bathroom with two sinks + a huge towel warmer where you can adjust the heat and it actually does warm the towels + bathrobes all very good. Breakfast was done well. Good front-of-house guy kept things moving, with food cooked to order - vegetarian eggs benedict with flat mushroom and fresh spinach in place of ham was memorable + proper leaf tea. Only downside was the noise from nearby building works at the marina. Didn't start until 8am and the doubleglazing helps/not much the hotel can do about it and Brighton will always involve some noise as it's a city.

"Pleasant. Could do with a coat of paint."
Pleasant enough hotel - little dilapidated but a charming period building nonetheless. It's far cheaper to park on the road in the Hanover area of town (whilst it's still not resident permitted) - grab a pint in the Napier or the Constant Service then get a cab down for less than £10 - rather than paying £25 a day to park at the hotel. Staff were pleasant and helpful, breakfast was below par for a hotel at this level. For food, I'd wander into town, or up to the Lion & Lobster which is 2 minutes walk up the road & serves grub all eve. I'd recommend this to a friend if they got an excellent deal - rack rate is, of course, laughable, as always.

"Convenient for shopping"
Staff excellent, room clean but a bit tired, windows were filthy outside, bathroom no shower curtain or screen bath panel cracked. Scaffolding has been there since our last stay in August 2014. we were upgraded as we have a loyalty card. On the whole the hotel needs a reburbishment, but still good value in comparrison to others in the vicinity.
