“A great place to stay”

The view from the room over the Presidential range was simply gorgeous and hard to beat. We had a great time staying in this resort. Only two things kept it from being perfect: the AC in the room was a bit noisy and the menu from the restaurant could offer a bit more choice, although it is not bad at all.

“Fun for school vacation”

My 2 kids had a great time here. It's very convenient for the skiing and the shuttle seems to be running nonstop so there's very little wait. There were a lot of other activities besides skiing to keep them busy too. The only down side was that there were very few dining options other than the ski lodge and the hotel. The food was very expensive. It's too bad that there isn't a town closer by so that you can have the option of eating outside of the hotel.

“Fabulous Spa”

Ensure to ask for one of the rooms that have recently been renovated. The older rooms are a little tatty and certainly in need of some TLC. Having said that the rest of the hotel and the newly opened conference center and Spa are definitely worth the trip. The Spa is one of the best I've encountered in New England - no expense has been spared with the interior design, and the multiple relaxation rooms, and private garden with whirlpool, are perfect to while away an hour or so after you finish your treatment. The Spa staff are very friendly and helpful, similar to what we encountered with the staff in the main hotel. We will definitely return.

“Service can be better”

Very grand hotel with spacious lobby. Rooms size varies. I booked two rooms, one with two queens and one with a king size bed. The two-queen room was much more spacious than the one-king. In fact, the one-king was a bit tight. Front desk and activity desk were nice. But service for different activities were not as professional as I would expect from such a grand hotel. All of these were minor inconvenience and nothing major. We waited for 20 minutes before someone showed up for bike rental (they did give us a discount but still, I would rather get the bike immediately) and the indoor pool ran out of towel. Quite a few other guests were visible upset. The phone in one room of the two rooms I booked did not work and even after mentioning it to the front desk a couple times, they just blamed it on the lightning 12 hours ago. Hotel has a lot of outdoor space and a lot of kids. That made it a good place for a family vacation. All in all, we had a good time there.

“Good overall, but with some things which could have been better”

We enjoyed our stay at the Omni Washington Hotel. It has excellent facilities, and a breathtaking view of Mount Washington while sipping drinks on the verandah. Rooms are not particularly large, but are clean and with all the facilities you would expect. Excellent bath / shower, but in our room we had to squeeze past the dressing table to get to the toilet! On first impressions the hotel can appear to be a bit too formal, and that is reinforced by nonsense rules about wearing a jacket for dinner in the evening. We hadn't thought to bring a jacket all the way from Scotland! Late in our stay we discovered that jackets could be borrowed, worn until you sat at your table and then removed. What is the point?! While we were there one restaurant was being refurbished, so eating options were very limited which was a problem given the hotel's remote location. Hopefully, that will be resolved. Excellent breakfast buffet on the other hand. Also while we were there, the hotel was having a persistent problem with its fire alarms which disturbed our sleep on our final night. But don't let any negative comments put you off. Staying in the hotel is overall a very enjoyable experience and there is lots to do and see in the surrounding area.

“Mount Washington Resort”

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Mount Washington Resort. The hotel's main level, the lobby and conservatory were spectacularly maintained/restored. I particularly enjoyed having coffee in the mornings, while reading the newspaper and sitting in the conservatory, with the incredible view of the Presidential Range. Some parts of the hotel are a bit lacking in maintenance, such as the main stairway, with landings that are not flat and level, and window frames that have dry rot and cracks. The guest rooms were clean, and comfortable, but not as well maintained as the main level areas. We were disappointed in the dining options. The main dining hall was beautiful, and elegant, but costs were high. There were no dinner or breakfast options within the hotel, besides the formal, expensive main dining hall. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful.

“Loud, dated, hotel with a nice view”

If you visit the hotel in the fall, be aware that there are weddings every weekend. We visited the hotel and there were 4 weddings in one night. The sound was heard throughout the hotel. The walls are thin and people talking in the halls could be heard until 2AM. The heat does not come on in the rooms unless it drops below 55 degrees. The rooms are not temperature controlled otherwise. Hotel rooms are in their original condition (200 years old). Thin walls, radiator pipes. New Hampshire hotel at New York City prices. The best part of the hotel is its breathtaking views of the mountains. Pros: Great views, cons: loud at night, difficult to sleep, needs updating. Advice: Stay at a different hotel, take a scenic drive, have a good nights sleep and save the money. Note: quieter in the summer, less weddings.

“Room was not as pictured”

The room was to small, bed was not queen size, some sort of motor running every 15 or so minutes 24/7 and woke us up during the night. Staff at the Activities Desk gave misleading information. We were not informed before our trip that we needed a reservation for meals (which were sold out) and about the dress code.
