“We'd Return Without Hesitation”
For anyone who doesn't want to stay in the madness of Las Vegas yet wants to be close enough to everything this is the place to stay. I was a little nervous booking this hotel over the Internet because with an older place you aren't sure what you are getting. Well, from the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by the friendly and helpful staff we knew we made the right choice. We loved coming down in the morning and enjoying the continental breakfast while sitting in front of the fireplace and listening to the grandfather clock chime. The wireless internet signal wasn't quite strong enough in our room for me to get a solid connection so we used the public access terminal on the landing. Our bed was also a little more firm than we are used to and we couldn't plug the bathtub so we had to have showers but those are all very minor things. With your room you get admission to the Hoover Dam museum located right in the same building -- be sure to use it...their displays are on par with the ones at the dam itself. We now know where we are staying every time we come to this area. This place is great.
“Very impressed with historic inn.”
Very pleased with the Inn and glad we chose to stay there. The rooms were comfortable and even though it was historic, there was a tv in our room. We were also glad to have an elevator, small, but efficient. The delicious full breakfast was served by friendly staff. The front-desk personnel were very helpful. We would recommend the Boulder Inn.
“Wonderful Historical Hotel”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Boulder Dam Hotel. It is a wonderful historic hotel that has been beautifully maintained. The rooms are small, but my husband and I had plenty of room. The room was quiet and the shower had the best water pressure of any hotel in which we have stayed this year. It is a treasure. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was an extra bonus.
“Great Hotel”
We arrived about 9 at night after a 4 hour drive from the Grand Canyon. We were greeted warmly by name when we walked in the door. We asked how they knew our names and they said we were the only people who hadn't checked in. They referred us to a nice restaurant down the street. We had a wake-up call at 4 in the morning to catch a flight out of Las Vegas and were again greeted warmly when we left @ 4:30. The bed was comfortable and clean and our only regret was that we didn't have time to stay longer at the hotel or in the town. Maybe next time.
“Historic charm, minutes from Vegas”
This historic hotel is peacefully located in Historic Boulder City. Breakfast comes with the room, with several other eateries within walking distance. The rooms are historically correct (small), but clean, quiet and adequate.
“Don't turn up late”
I arrived rather late on the night of check in and was welcomed with a friendly banter in a lovely building. Their lovely Americana art deco bar avec lounge singer closed at 11pm. There are other bars open later but I felt like I missed out and it was through nobody's fault other than mine. The rooms are more than acceptable. Nice towels and clean linen. Beds are quite firm in comparison to Vegas soft beds. My bathroom door made it quite difficult to get in and out of the bathroom but I'm rather large. This isn't a complaint just an observation that the bathrooms, very nice they are too, are a squeeze. They also had a trolley for resident's use that fit in the elevator. I was overjoyed as no where on the strip offered this simple answer to the problems of travellers like myself who have to travel fully loaded. 5* to BDH for providing a trolly. The staff are all very friendly in my experience and I would have loved to relax in their lounge. Plenty of car parking and conveniently located for bars and antique shops. They also have the BD museum on site although again I didn't have time although they comp a ticket if you are a guest. Altogether I was very happy with my stay at the BDH. Not least because they also comp breakfast (which is an acceptable take on continental) and they include internet facilities with the room. I would certainly recommend a stay here to anyone who wanted a break from the strip. It's only half an hour away and easy to get to.
“Charming, well maintained historic hotel”
Excellent, but small rooms. The room size is typical of the '30s this beautifully restored historic landmark represents.
“Lovely hotel”
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, we were upgraded on arrival, and the facilities in the hotel were excellent. Continental breakfast included was good, lots of fresh coffee, juice, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, muffins and pastries. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and smelt really nice, clean and fresh with a spicy aroma. Museum in hotel was also very good, staff having lots of local knowledge. Boulder City residents are also very proud of their town, quite rightly so, it is charming!
“Delightful hotel - full of character”
We had a lovely welcome to this really elegant hotel - the reception staff were extremely helpful and full of useful tips for our stay. We were disappointed that we had only booked one night - could have stayed a lot longer! Highly recommended.
“Fantastic Experience”
We stayed here for one night in June this year and really liked this hotel. It is an historic hotel and the character has been kept throughout which is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We had a double room which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but this is really in keeping with the hotel. Free wi-fi was available in our room and the connection was very good. The air conditioning in our room was also very good and quiet. The included breakfast was excellent it’s not buffet style you choose from the menu what you would like and this is served to you. We had omelette’s which were lovely and a very decent portion size. The staff at the Boulder Dam are very friendly and helpful- they chat with you and make you feel very welcome. This is different to what you experience in the larger hotel chains. The hotel is in an excellent location and Boulder City itself is a very quaint and safe place. It’s about a 30 minute drive to Las Vegas and is a nice retreat to get away from the hustle and bustle that Vegas brings. We would highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again in the future.
