“Close to everything and lots of character!”
We saw Le Calendal on the Rick Steves show and decided to stay there on our recent trip to Provence, it did NOT disappoint!! The front desk staff went over and above 'quality service' and friendly to boot! Our room was full of character..multi-level with several steps up to a huge patio with two lounge chairs and a large table with chairs and overlooking many city ruins...we were sorry we only booked one night. Breakfast on the pretty shaded patio was heaven. The location is awesome... all ruins, shopping, and restaurants pretty much right outside your door. It is on our 'repeat list' definitely!
“An Absolute Gem”
Our stay at Le Calendal was one of the many highlights of our trip. Best possible location between the Arles Amphitheater and the Ancient Theater. Close to everything., And the hotel is delightful. Our room was very French with the choice of colors, drapes, and furnishings and extremely comfortable. Very nice bathroom. The downstairs has a both a wonderful restaurant where we ate twice as well as a sandwich/snack area. Free Wifi and Computers for guests. And the staff could not be nicer. They could not do enough for you. Although the entrance may look small, it has a number of rooms and is larger than it looks. Each room is a little different. If we were to return to Arles, we would head straight back.
“Totally Charming Experience”
This hotel is extremely charming and located right next to the Roman colliseum in an amazing setting. There is also a cafe downstairs that provides snacks and refreshments all day long. This was my favorite stay in the south of France. I would highly recommend this hotel. The shopping near the hotel is also really fun.
“Great Location”
A wonderful small hotel in the best location in town. Staff spoke Engish without difficulty, The only drawback is the lack of an elevator. The staff was very helpful in carrying our luggage up (and down) the narrow stairs. We did avoid the overpriced breakfasts.
“Great Location”
Stayed in November - great to go off season. Got a decent rate. Neg - Parking is advertised but really available but can be had close by. Internet signal in this room too weak to be useful. Positive - Our room very small (European standards) but basic and sufficient. I believe other rooms may have more space. Bathroom compact but nicely done. Included a small private patio for coffee in the morning.
“Convenient location”
Close to all the sights, cheerful service, effort was made to update and keep the hotel looking nice.

Area:
Arles, France: Founded by the Greeks in 600 BC, Arles then became little Rome. Roman remains include a remarkably intact arena (now used for bullfights), baths, theatre and a vast necropolis. But this compact city on the Rhône is perhaps best known for its colourful houses and winding streets, depicted in so many of Van Goghs canvases during his prolific period here. The excellent Van Gogh Trail is marked by plaques embedded in the footpaths.
