“Really very good”
Really recommend this hotel, room was clean, if anything the cleaners came too often! Towels were changed in afternoons as well, why? The rooms are not particularly sound proof but it didn't bother us as neighbouring rooms kept quiet as most guests do in hotels. The pool was lovely & not too cold. Good location, next door to tourist info & very short walk to everything in centre of Arles. & what a place Arles is, just go it's fantastic.
“Close to the centre of town yet very quiet”
An excellent hotel in almost every respect. It is a beautiful building very close to the historic centre and yet easily accessible by road. Your car is parked for you and while this is expensive it makes life a lot easier. The room was spacious and very well equipped. The level of service was excellent. We had the swimming pool to ourselves most of the time and the garden was a delight. There is an expensive restaurant attached to the hotel but we dined elsewhere as it was much cheaper. Similarly, it is much cheaper to have breakfast across the road. The hotel staff were excellent in every respect.
“An ouitstanding hotel in Arles, France”
Our stay here was for four nights over the 2007 Easter holiday. We found the Jules Cesar hotel to be a wonderfully elegant old world experience. The hotel restauarnt is really outstanding and rivals any number of Michelin starred establishments I have patronized in France. Front desk service was spotty and we had some difficulty with one employee (a rookie I feel) who promised to have a picnic basket ready for us in 30 muniutes and then could not deliver because she did not have authorization from her supervisor.
“Hôtel Jules César : cadre et situation idéaux”
Séjour bref mais très agréable
“old-style grandeur”
The stately public spaces in this old-style hotel might strike some as formal - a possible reason why no one ever seemed to sit in them. The rooms, though, are comfortably elegant, more spacious than most French hotels, with large bathrooms, views of the courtyard, high ceilings and traditional decor. The garden is flourishing and there's an outdoor pool for a cool dip and a bit of sun after a day of travel or sightseeing.
“Looks better than it is”
The outside is gorgeous. Our room was very dated and not in a good way. The restaurant in the hotel has very poor food and few options. The best part was the fresh fruit plate for dessert. The hotel manager sat in the corner staring at us throughout the first 1/2 of dinner. The whole place was weird.
“Mmmouais...”

Area:
Arles, France: Founded by the Greeks in 600 BC, Arles then became little Rome. Roman remains include a remarkably intact arena (now used for bullfights), baths, theatre and a vast necropolis. But this compact city on the Rhône is perhaps best known for its colourful houses and winding streets, depicted in so many of Van Goghs canvases during his prolific period here. The excellent Van Gogh Trail is marked by plaques embedded in the footpaths.
