Towels are a little thin. Since the room was on the street it was noisy. Our luggage did not arrive until the next day but staff was very helpful in receiving it for us. We had trouble locating the hotel because the narrow alley we needed to take seemed like it was for pedestrians only. Parking was convient once we found the hotel.

This hotel is in a small square just off Cours Mirabeaux, next to bars, shops and restaurants. We stayed in a twin room overlooking the street but everything went quiet later on. Staff were friendly and cheerful. Hotel and room was ok, with character and quite comfortable.

“Good location bad hotel”

The room is too small, with an rug for headboard. The standin shower does is too small to take bath and has no soap holder. Good luck gilding the shower head and soap while trying to take bath. The biggest problem is that you need special training to open the room door. The lock is antique and unless you press it the right way the door won't unlock. I have seen many guests trying their skills at unlocking the door. The hotel location is the only good thing. It's located in the middle or downtown with easy access to restaurants, taxi and public transport.

I've never thought of writing a negative review for a property before now, but I hope that people might go into this situation with eyes wide open. The hotel has not seen, to my eyes, signification maintenance or refurbishment for what I believe would be at least 20 years, possibly more. The fixtures, from a leaking toilet (yes, indeed) to the non working fridge, battered 9-inch tube television, to even the carpet and beds were worn, stained, broken, and have needed replacement for many years. The "bathtub" was a strange unit, meant to be used only while sitting, using a hose. Though it lacked a shower curtain to make this arrangement workable. The bathroom floor, decades old linoleum, was peeling and bubbling away from whatever was underneath it, probably as the result of decades of this strange arrangement. The front desk staff were friendly, to their credit, and probably not responsible for the hotel's neglect. The location would be ideal if you were a college age partier looking to climb home from the cluster of beer pubs at the foot of the hotel at the wee hours of the morning. If you were looking to get a night's sleep, however, this location is not particularly advisable. It was quite noisy.
