I did pay at the property, the final reconciled charge for the hotel did not match the expedia price. They charged me an additional 'desitnation charge' not listed on expedia, in addition 'resort fee' that was listed on the expedia site. Very shady.

Location was great in center of everything in Boston but hotel was under construction which wasn’t told at booking or on arrival .also that would be woken up by construction in hotel at 9 am and we were on 5th floor . Other then that great .

I had a bad experience at this hotel. Construction Noise starting at 7am and ran all day. Was told breakfast was complimentary - it wasn’t. Valet left my driver’s window down. Bathroom was filthy.

The hotel was nice. No super direct connections for the T but not a long walk. No on site restaurant except for defined hours. Staff was helpful approached but never greeted when entering or departing.

Notre séjour de 3 nuits passées au AKA Boston Common s'est bien passé, malgré les petits inconvénients rencontrés. Le personnel est souriant et serviable, cependant pour le prix payé pour la chambre, celui-ci n'a pas rencontré nos attentes, hormis la situation géographique idéale, à côté de la station de métro et du parc. Nous avions payés pour une chambre lit king à l'étage supérieur - vue ville, qui s'avérait être face au batiment voisin en brique, sans vue. La chambre était d'une superficie raisonnable, mais les meubles était endommagés, sans parler de la salle de bain avec des accessoires rouillés et un bain douche taché. La chambre n'a pas de cafétière incluse, le service étant offert à la réception le matin. Le site web de réservation ne mentionnait pas qu'il y avait des rénovations à partir de 6h30 le matin, que nous entendions même au 12e étage. Il n'y a pas de stationnement inclus dans le coût de la chambre. Il y en a un de disponible avec valet au coût de 65$ par jour. Nous avons apprécié la ville de Boston somme tout.

This hotel is a very good option for everyone visiting Boston. I book my hotels based on location and this is in the perfect spot. The meeting point to start the tours of the freedom trail (ths State House) is a few steps away and shopping area and cafés are two blocks away. The metro station is across the street, and the area is quiet and safe.

Overall the hotel was great and as described on the website. Our main complaint relates to very poor lighting in the room we stayed in. The lights are in odd places and dim making it quite hard to read.

The hotel was very nice - with great decor and a great vibe. It was clean and the staff was wonderful, offers valet parking and has a great restaurant attached to it. Its pretty convenient to much of the city of Boston. From the Prudential Center, Newberry St and other attractions, its only about a 10-15 minute Uber ride at most. I did however, park in a parking garage on Washington St. and my car was broken into and a couple of things were stolen... Not the Hotel's fault, but just potentially an indication of the area. I gave the Hotel 5 stars except for the question about the area around the property.

King suite was lovely, staff were great. Bed was comfortable. I wish there was a coffee maker in the room. Parking is expensive - wish we knew they didn't have an EV charger (non-Tesla) onsite. We ended up leaving valet and finding a garage a couple blocks over that was cheaper and offered free charging. But otherwise, the location was great for a weekend getaway without the kids!

After we paying the room bill, resort fee, destination fee, and deposit fee still charge us $616 for authorization fee. When we tried to contact with hotel, it took a incredibly long time to give us a response. Bad experience.

This hotel was very convenient since it was in the middle of Boston. We chose to uber most of the time since it’s in a busy area and close to where we had to get to (the common, restaurants, TD Garden) were about 10 minutes away. The negatives were the refrigerator not working, there’s no coffee maker which every hotel should have, ice machine not working… it was a bit dark and I paid for a city view with NO views! We were facing the burial ground so why put it on there if it’s getting renovated?! Most hotels I book, the room looks exactly the same as the picture. Although the staff were really helpful, the hotel just lacks things guests shouldn’t have to worry about during a short get away from home.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was fine. The lighting in the room was very weird. The room was decorated nicely but even if I turned on all the lights in the room it didn’t light up the whole room, and they felt very spotlight-y. The only truly bad thing about the stay was the temperature regulation in the room. We had the thermostat set to 65 because we like it cold, however the room was getting up to 75 degrees which didn’t make sense. We tried manipulating the thermostat in any way possible to get it to lower the temp but nothing worked. Opening the window only lowered in a couple degrees.

My fiancé and I had an exceptional experience at the Aka hotel. We went to celebrate our engagement anniversary and we couldn't have gone to a better place than this. Polite and kind people, excellent food and excellent accommodation.

The staff was very friendly. The rooms had cool character to them with a late 1800s theme. My room didn’t seem super clean but was acceptably clean. It would be great if coffee was available in the rooms or if it was available in the lobby earlier in the day. It was not availableBefore 7:30 am and there were two other guests waiting for coffee with me at 7 am.
