“wonderful stay”
We enjoyed our stay very much! If we go to Boston one ore time, we will stay in this small, cosy hotel. It was like home. Breakfast was great. Also, very close to Harvard Square.

Not en-suite, no TV, just basic accommodation in an excellent location and with excellent friendly staff.

COULD NOT CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE IN ROOM. MACHINE ROOM OF AC NEXT GOING ON AND OF ALL NIGHT, WITH A TREMENDOUS NOISE. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE.
“The Irving House At Harvard Was Perfect For Us.”
We wanted to stay near Harvard and the previous reviews indicated The Irving House might be a good choice, though the rating was two stars. With that in mind, we booked and were thrilled with the experience. The desk staff was quite friendly and helpful with directions and advice. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of hot and cold dishes in a "help yourself" sort of way. Cookies and tea and coffee are available all day. Current newspapers are provided along with a wide variety of magazines in the computer/reading room. There is a laundry available to do your own washing, if desired. The room itself was quite comfortable. We couldn't have asked for anything more. It was great.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. Terrific "help yourself" breakfast and friendly and helpful front desk staff.

Cozy atmosphere, great breakfasts, well-run and friendly, excellent location just off the Harvard campus--at an amazingly affordable price. I chose it for cost and location, and did not know my stay would be so delightful.

Location and quality of service as well as the excellent and comprehensive buffet breakfast all combined to make this a very enjoyable "Victorian Bed & Breakfast" stay.
“great hotel, everything was great except....”
shared bathrooms, their employees shouldnt be allowed to used shared hotel bathrooms sounds like a conflict of interest. i had to pee real bad and the employee who does beds was about to pee in it and made me wait

Feels family run, superb breakfast. staff are friendly and helpful. room was small but nice.
“for budget travelers only - dont expect much”
This hotel isn't appropriate for business travel; I really think it's only for students. Hostel feel. Converted large old home. Shared bathroom. Difficult to find, VERY limited parking. My room was tiny - more of a cell. Maybe 8X10 or 12? No AC controls. Now - it was clean, and the bed was comfortable,but I was surprised this was bookable on expedia
