Low-end hotel in otherwise great area.

Posted 27-Jul-2015
This hotel apparently was formerly a YWCA, and that is apparent once you check in. Everything--from the absence of bell service, lacking valet parking, tiny room, sketchy guests, etc.--suggests that this is a low-rent option in an otherwise terrific neighborhood (Back Bay/Copley Square). The self-parking complex down the block is overpriced and a trek from the hotel. There is no outside presence to hail a taxi for you. Would never do this again.

Great hotel, convenient and close walking distance

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: Convenience, location, staff, cleanliness
Cons: have contenintal breakfast
Location: Copley Square is a block away and they host many summer activities. The T transportation rail is less than 2 blocks away. Everything else is walkable
Staff was very friendly and courteous! They willingly assisted me with learning my way around town via the Boston map, and always had water available to take on my walking advenutures! They even remembered my birthday! The hotel was cozy and clean! I love the room!

Great small hotel in a big city

Posted 23-Jul-2015
Pros: Convenience, reasonable cost. Clean and new.
Cons: Wish they had a bar on premises.
Location: Metro lines, Trinity Church, Prudential Ctr, Duck Boat stop, South Side, many nice restaurants. Hard to find a cozy simple neighborhood bar nearby.
Great small hotel in a big city. Close to Metro and Prudential Ctr in the Back Bay. Easy walk to South Side. We spent 5 nights at a very good price from Expedia. First floor pizza place is convenient in the morning but not the only option for breakfast. Nearby bars and restaurants made everything very convenient. Boston is a walking city and Hotel140 helped us fit right in. Next door garage was convenient and discount from hotel was VERY appreciated.

Great location but hotel is way too expensive

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Pros: Area
Cons: Price and attention to detail. After cleaning my room they left the door open ALL day so anyone could enter. Thankfully I had my passport etc with me.
No facilities as just apartments basically, but all OK. Area its in is great and easy to travel for work etc. But for the price these rooms are not worth it and are a little run down.

Nice part of town, close to beautiful shops and restaurants .... However if thinking of doing hop on hop off trolley , stay clear of the Bean trolley horrible vehicles , couldn't understand commentary and trolleys only come every 40 minutes last trolley 3.45

Location and Old Boston feel....

Posted 15-Jul-2015
Cons: If you want a bath - this may NOT be the hotel for you. The shower has excellent water pressure.
I appreciated the location of this hotel for walking distance to numerous attractions, shopping and dining. The feel of the hotel was old Bostonian character, which is what I prefer compared to the monolithic structure of hotels today (such as the Hyatt where my conference was).

GREAT LOCATION! GREAT ROOM! GREAT STAFF!

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Pros: EVERYTHING~
Cons: If I could have had a view of the fireworks from my bed,..... it would have been perfect! hehehehe!
Location: Parking is literally right next door. There is a post office and a great little place to eat across the street, shopping and the parkway to the garden
I cannot say enough about the great front desk staff. So friendly and helpful. The room was little, but that is okay, I was not in it that much. It was clean and well kept. The location is terrific. I would stay here again and recommend it highly.

good location BUT...

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Converted YWCA, rooms are not quite up to standard. No amenities. Small, narrow, crammed. Blinds and curtains do not keep the early morning light out of the room, so we were awakened every day before 6 am. Pillows are much too thick; they couldn't provide me with thinner ones. Wifi was out a few times, once for a whole evening and part of the next morning.

To small kept hearing other people in their rooms, kept me up. banging feet on furniture, could not move fast due to to much furniture in room, kept watching my feet. low water pressure, no place to put sundries down in bathroom.
