“Honeymoon Trip”
We stayed at LeMeridian for 6 nights for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Our room was upgraded to an overwater bungalow (at no extra cost) and it was incredible. There was even a bottle of champagne waiting for us newlyweds when we arrived, a nice surprise. The decor was very contemporary and island styled. We loved seeing the variety of fish through the glass bottom, not to mention the cool blue night light it provided at night. One night we awoke to hundreds of fish literally having a feeding frenzy on the surface, a real exciting site. Although LeMeridian appears to be one of the few hotels on the Motu that has a nice white sandy beach and a swim area that faces the Island's mountain, the inner lagoon was our favorite spot to swim and snorkel in. We found many fish and coral reefs to explore with the complementary snorkel and fins. They provided other free ammenities like paddleboats, canoes and private tours on a small catamaran which we also took advantage of. The food and drinks on the Island are not cheap at all. Expect to pay $30+ a meal and $22 per cocktail everywhere. Beer is the cheapest at $7, unless you buy it in the grocery store. LeMeridian offered some good snack options and their room service had some great deals for breakfast. Their food was very gourmet and they provided a different buffet each night. The staff were all very friendly and mostly locals, which made it fun as they always said "hello" and "thank you" in Tahitian.
“Surreal scenery from a nice resort”
Fantastic location, surreal scenery, excellent accomodations.. Landscape, resort rooms and cleanliness top notch. The private Lagoon is like an aquarium that you can swim with tropical fish and turtles. Unfortunately, the quality of the food, drinks and service in the restaurant did not match the "stars" that this resort is deserving for the rest of the categories. Take the shuttle boat and go to the main island or neighbouring St. Regis for dinner if you like fine food. Otherwise, you should put up with very expensive and the mediocre food at the resort. Overall, this is a nice place to stay in Bora Bora.
“No activities”
The hotel is very clean, the staff is wonderful, but the hotel is very poor in activities, nothing to do, looks like a dead hotel..NO music at the swiming pool, nothing to do all day... Three days is the maximun we could be there..We stayed 7 days and it was very bored.. I think they need to invest in activities, music and shows. Ah, the food is not good.
“Paradise”
This hotel was perfect for us. The hotel and rooms are well maintained with great amenities, and the location cannot be beat, with an amazing view of Ote Manu. We felt very comfortable and welcome, and I would recommend this hotel over other similar properties surrounding the island.
“A Great Hotel With 5* Service”
We stayed i the Le Meridien for one night as a stop over while our cruise ship docked over night. We arrived approx 2pm in the afternoon and was greeted at reception with a cool drink and a towel wipe. After checking in we were escorted around the hotel to show us where all the faclities are. We were then escorted down to our room, a over water bungalow right at the end of the pier. The rooms are very very comfortable and offer a bath and a seperate walk in shower. you have all the complements as per a 5* hotel. The floor has two big glass panels so you can view the evening parade of fish that collect in the light blue waters below. The staff were all great and friendly and the service was excellent.
“Wonderful!!!”
If you are going to Tahiti you have to stay here! The bunaglows over the water were amazing, you can jump from your balcony into the water. There are lots on free water activities to do as well. Overall, hightly recommend this hotel, it's worth the price.
“Wish we lived there”
They just did a recent renovation, so the rooms are very new. We also stayed at the Four Seasons, which for 4 times the price we did get a bigger room, but no glass bottom floor. Le Meridiens was a huge glass floor, and they offer the same amenities as the Four Seasons. One thing that makes this hotel very unique is th Turtle Sanctuary. You won't stay anywhere else that lets you see and swim freely with turtles. I would definitely stay here again.
“Welcome to Paradise”
Our stay was perfect. We were met at the airport by the hotel launch. They delivered our bags to our bungalow over the water without any hitches. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect! WOW!!!!
“Simply Breathtaking!”
This hotel is simply breathtaking! The view across the lgagoon is beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the room was gorgeous. The food was delicious, the restaurant is open and you can watch fish as you eat. I have never felt so far away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort guests were mostly French and Italian with a few Japanese and Americans. The snorkeling was a bit disappointing. There was no coral off the beach, so we were limited to the "lagoonarium" where we saw many beautiful fish but were conscious of being in a large "tank" and not out in the wild. Swimming with the turtles, however, was a thrill. This is also by far the most expensive place we've ever been. Even the mandatory roundtrip boat ride to and from the airport added an expensive per person cost. The view from the deck of the over the water bungalow was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen and I just sat there for hours in my bathrobe, but the bungalow is so high off the water that it is not possible to see any fish through the huge glass floor. Next time, I would reserve the garden bungalow and apply the room savings to the meal costs.
“Arrange airport boat transfer”
After booking this beautiful property on Expedia, I realized I needed to arrange the airport to resort boat transfer. It would have been nice if Expedia's customer service had made the arrangements, but I don't remember them offering. So I emailed Le Meridien Bora Bora who needed my flight intinerary and arranged for their private boat to pick us up from the airport. Entering the resort by boat was spectacular. The staff provided a nice walking tour of the facility and the check-in process was very good. Our over water bungalow was in a French Polynesia modern decor and glass bottom floor was stunning. The main draw to this resort for us was the beautiful inner lagoon where you can swim/snorkel with sea turtles and different species of fish. Le Meridien also has their own complimentary ferry to the main island. However, you will need to make arrangements with the activities desk to determine your mode of island transportation. We opted for an eight hour rental car so we could have lunch and dinner as we explored and shopped the island.
