“Perfect Location”
This hotel is perfectly located for exploring the center of Bologna. It is a bit difficult to get to at night by car given the various one-way streets surrounding the hotel. It is however, located on the main road leading to the city center from the North. Booking through Expedia was easy. We simply surrendered our passports at check in and received our room keys. No paperwork to fill out. Check in took 1-2 minutes. Parking is located in an underground parking lot beneath the hotel. It costs 20 Euro for a one night space. Access to the garage is from the street immediately behind the hotel. Adjacent to the hotel is a large, outdoor market. When we were there, the market was all the typical clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes by foot from the main piazza. We found no hotels closer without paying exorbitant prices. Plenty of restaurants of all style in and around the hotel. Breakfast was good. It was better than most Italian breakfasts in terms of pastry, but the meat and other assorted treats were lacking. On a scale of 1-10, breakfast was a 7.
“Four star hotel at a three star price - a lovely experience.”
Very helpful staff. Lovely twin bedded room and large bathroom. Hotel in good condition and very clean. Breakfast fine - especially the cakes and different croissant varieties. Nice seating area outside at the front for hotel guests - shaded when hot, have a glass of wine and watch the world go by. Very convenient for all the sights so a perfect tourist hotel.
“Would definately stay there again”
Would reccomend a visit to this city and hotel. Lots to do and see
“Well found”
The hotel was of very good standard all round. The icing on the cake, though, was the area at the front of the hotel with shaded and cushioned seating perfect for that morning coffee and watching the world go by.
“caroline”
Best breakfast buffet and excellent location make this a definite choice for a stay in Bologna
“very well-located”
Half way down the Via D'Indipendenza, I Tre Vecchi is well locted for the train staion, lots of restaurants and just about everything else inthis compact city. A good breakfast and very pleasant service make this an ideal place to stay.
“A really good deal”
Very clean, comfortable and convenientyl situated hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast served in converted vaults.
“Great Location!”
We have just returned from two weeks' holiday staying at this hotel and thought it was very good. It has a very central location on Via dell'Indipendenzia, so everything is walkable. The bedroom was quiet and air conditioned with lots of floor space, big wardrobe and good sized bathroom. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and is served in a bright porticoed room on the ground floor. We found there was a lot to do in Bologna including a climb up the famous Asinelli Tower which has amazing views . The hotel is a short walk from the bus and train stations which makes it very convenient for visiting Parma, Modena, Ravenna, Rimini and Ferrara. The Ducati Museum on the outskirts of Bologna is also worth visiting, but if you apply via their website for a factory and museum tour, you can see the bikes being made and also hear the history of Ducati. There is a taxi rank outside the hotel so it is easy to get there. You can also get the bus to the Lamborghini Museum. Our top recommendation is the walk from Via Saragozza to Porta Saragozza which takes you up to the church of San Luca under 666 porticos - the stunning views from the top all over Bologna make it well worth the climb. There are many restaurants and bars to choose from, all a short walk from the hotel. Two of our favourite restaurants was Ristorante Belfiore in Via Marsala and Ristorante Marilyn in Via Galliera We thought that Bologna was an excellent base from which to visit the best of Emilia-Romagna region.
“Ideal location”
Excellent location for all local attractions, journey from airport and railway station. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very clean and comfortable room and facilities Location of our room could have been better as was overlooked by other rooms so had to leave blinds down.
“Good location”
Close to train station. Markets were right down stairs but weren't anything special just like a flea market. Front desk staff was a little snobby and laughed when I didn't speak Italian and he didn't know what I was saying in English. Only one guy was super friendly and he was the 'bell boy'. Rooms were clean but could use some revamping. Some light fixtures didn't even have shades on them.
