“If you can, book the Junior Suite”
Beautiful Room and the bestest shower and bath I have ever been in. Shame there is no bar at the hotel Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend.
“Perfect stay at the Metropolitan”
Stayed at the Metropolitan in Bologna in July 2010, fantastic staff, clean and comfortable hotel. Great location, only a matter of steps from the main street and a 10 minute walk from the train station.

Tucked away a little from one of the main streets in Bologna this is a great little hotel. Rooms not huge but very comfortabe and clean. Very friendly and helpfull staff too. Would stay here again for sure.

Conveniently situated halfway between the station and the main square, only metres from the aerobus stop to and from the airport, and near some excellent restaurants (eg Diana and Da Pietro) the Metropolitan proved an ideal base for sightseeing. The main problem was finding it in a small alley not named on many maps (print out the map on the hotel's web-site or one from Google before you go). The public areas of the hotel are smart and modern, and the staff helpful. My (excellent value) room was attractive and well-equipped, but not spacious as the large bed took up most of the floor space; this was fine for me but two people would have been falling over each other. The cold buffet breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented. If I return to Bologna I'll definitely stay here again.
“Impossible to drive to, parking a pain”
The hotel was swell. The front desk was a bit brusque and always generous with their time or assistance. It is IMPOSSIBLE to find the hotel via car. Two GPS systems and two hours of driving down narrow winding one-way streets that would suddenly dead-end failed to help me locate the hotel. Parking is in a public lot a four blocks away. Be careful which one you park in because one lot may tow cars when it has a market. After a couple of days staying at the hotel I decided that I knew the neighborhood well enough to drive up and retrieve my luggage. After all, it was daytime and I planned my route on foot before getting the rental car. So, I walked to the parking lot, paid to remove the rental car and then spent 1 hour trying in vain to reach the hotel. I eventually parked the car and dragged my luggage through the streets of Bologna. The elevator/lift in 2 square feet. The Metropolitan was clean and right in the heart of an amazing city, Highly recommended.
“Would stay there again”
The hotel is in a very convenient and central location with an airport bus stop just on the other side of the road, which is ideal. The location is great for shopping, eating and sightseeing. I had booked a single room which was nice and clean and my only disappointment was that it had no view and very little light as it opened up onto an enclosed space with just a wall opposite and I had to lean out of the window to see some sky. Other than that I was very happy with my stay and would certainly recommend this hotel.

quiet little hotel within short walking distance of bus station,train station and square..busstop for airport bus just accross the road..hotel hard to fault and reception staff very helpful but have to say that the single rooms were smallest i've ever seen. lovely buffet breakfast
“Convenient and friendly”
The front desk staff were very helpful and eager to assist with our questions and requests. They went out of their way to be helpful (e.g., looking things up on the internet for us). I reserved a non-smoking room but my initial room smelled of smoke, and they immediately offered to move me once I mentioned it. It was clear that a lot of care went into the breakfast spread each morning. In my view the most valuable thing about this hotel is its convenient location, midway between the train station and the Piazza Maggiore and a short walking distance from shops, restaurants and bars. Taxis in Bologna are on the expensive side, so being able to walk everywhere is an advantage. The room was clean and contained all the needed amenities. The bed was comfortable and the nightly rates were reasonable. If you plan to spend a lot of time relaxing in your room or are looking for deluxe accommodations, you may want to consider one of the more expensive hotels in town. However, for a sightseeing trip I would stay here again.
