Magnuson Hotel in Blythe is a well-maintained, clean, historic motel where I'm glad I stayed! It's old-school (a one-story, U-shaped property with parking in front of the rooms) but quite nice.
I was impressed at check-in. The friendly desk staff gave me a cold water bottle, a bottle of juice, and a gallon ziploc full of prepackaged snacks (a bag of chips, a granola bar, a cookie, etc.). That was a pleasant surprise, and so was the fact that my room had a large Roku TV. (I didn't log into and watch any of the streaming services I subscribe to, but it was good to know that the option was available.)
I also appreciated that the room had a mini-fridge, a microwave, and multiple easily-accessible power outlets. The AC worked well, too - very important in the desert heat.
The motel is just off an interstate exit on the east end of Blythe. One of the town's few sit-down restaurants, Steaks n Cakes, is about a block away; I had a good breakfast there.
My one issue at the motel was that the bathroom's window didn't have a screen, which allows insects to fly in. When I first went into the hotel room, there were several live flies in the bathroom. Not a big problem, but a bit annoying.
I'd definitely stay at Magnuson again.
