Hotel full of character

Posted 13-Apr-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Excellent a stone's throw from The Blue Mountains and all it offers
The Hotel Blue is absolutely charming in style and character. Welcoming staff and nothing too much trouble. Beautiful dining room with excellent food.

Past its best

Friendly staff and a reasonable breakfast could not compensate for a small, shabby room, badly in need of complete refurbishment. Disappointing and expensive for what it was.

Not what we expected

Posted 14-Jan-2014
I thought the hotel was going to have that old cosy heritage feel about it. Instead it felt rather dirty with ants in the carpet of our room. The bed was so hard and squeaky that was hard to get a good night sleep. Was contemplating driving home. We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel that came with the package. The best thing about the place was it was walking distance to attractions and town centre. However, whilst walking we saw many places that we would have preferred to be staying at and better prices too.

Fawlty Towersesque

Very tired rooms, eccentric service but a strange old school charm.

Good location, nice stuff, comfortable bed, plenty of entertainment , only problem is the bathroom is too small and old.

Quirky warm atmosphere that leaves a smile on your face. Room was simple but clean and comfortable and staff were very friendly. Will definitely say here again.

Cosy little hotel, with friendly staff.

Pros: In the middle of town, friendly staff.
Cons: Hotel needs new furniture, and a major renovation badly.
Location: In the middle of Katoomba town. Close to Echo point and train station.
Cosy Hotel. Staff very friendly and very helpful. However, the decor and furniture is very old and dated. A general overhaul and major renovation is badly needed.
