Cancelled by Hotel
Was supposed to be staying in this hotel Monday-Wednesday. My stay was cancelled by the hotel on the Friday before. This was around 2 weeks ago. I have still not received a refund from the hotel or hotels.com. Hotels.com offered an alternative on the Friday and I was told this was the only option but this hotel didn’t work for me and I asked for a refund and was told this would be processed. I ended up booking another hotel at my own cost. At 4:30pm on the day I was supposed to check in, hotels.com offered 3 other hotel options, however, obviously this was too late.

I had a good stay at the hotel. The only issue I had was on my first morning I had to take a cold shower as there was an issue with the plumbing. I let the reception know when I went out that morning, by the time I got back in the evening the issue had been resolved. I would stay again.

Enjoyed my stay, recieved an email in the morning to inform me about an event which would mean noise and limited parking. The noise stopped when they said it would. When I arrived there was no parking but they found a space for me. Very pleased with this stay and the helpful staff.

Great service and friendly staff
Staff were really great. No food on site but they recommend places you can order in from and you can eat in the bar area. Clean room with everything you need. Would stay again.

The room was really small and on a main road. The traffic was loud all Night. The hotel was clean, I had noisy “neighbours “ and had a competition the following morning so would have benefited from a room away from the road.

Room was ok. Bed was not what I would of expected mattress did not a sheet over and looked old dirty. Instead a mattress topper had been placed on bed with sheet around it. The room itself had a few repairs done to it that were not what I would call satisfactory

Happy stay
The hotel is modern and fresh, friendly staff and nice rooms. Bar in reception and free parking. Only 2 miles to broard Street £7 in a taxi. We will book there again.

One night break
Apart from a disinterested welcome on arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. For £85 the compact room was more than adequate and in the style of a premier inn. The room hadn’t been hoovered but it was by no means dirty. Overall a pretty decent hotel not far from the city centre. Continental breakfast was very nice with lots of choice.

I would not have stayed here if I had known there was no food available diner time or evenings and there was no hot breakfast just continental. Also only bottled beer at the bar so quite expensive for a pint . The place apart from that was good enough.

Noisy room next door
Decent stay thin walls could hear next door talking and giggliglng all night . Went to sleep with the Tv still on . Got text when I woke up that the the volume was too high. It was only turned up because I couldn’t hear it for them talking loudly to one another. Cheekily they complained when they got back from the pub that the volume was disturbing them . Yet up to 10oclock before they went out they were very noisy . Some people just are so self centred and up their self . Ishould have complained about the but didn’t . Apart from thin walls it’s a decent hotel. I have stayed here many times with no problems.

Poor Soundproofing but good.
It was a pleasant stay overall but let down by a number of issues.My wife and I came to Birmingham to look after my daughter’s two year old as she just had another baby. Therefore we chose Ibis just for sleeping and resting. First night was awful as we were kept awake by the occupants in the next room till 4 am. I went down to at 2am to complain about the noise to the night porter. Although the night porter took action the noise did not die down. We could also hear occupants using the toilet. Bottom line - poor inter-room sound proofing. The other point to note was that the shower tray and sink were damaged and should have been replaced before allowing new occupants.Hard to say what germs were lurking beneath the shower tray. Re parking I registered my car registration as required but was disturbed to receive a PCN two weeks later. Although we were compensated with a free breakfast for the disturbed night and have been assured that the PCN would be could cancelled our overall experience is somewhat marked. The hotel is nice otherwise with pleasant breakfast room and bar. Unfortunately no draught beer was available during my stay either.Broken pump.
