“Very nice!”
The only thing I was disappointed in was that you had to pay for parking. $10 per vehicle! I would think that the parking should be included! But the room was very clean and comfortable. They have the big fluffy pillows and the down comforter.

“nice place--starting to show signs of age”
Carpeting/decor is starting to look a little old, but the service was excellent and everything was clean. They need to upgrade to flat-screen tv's though...
“Y'all Come Back Now”
Room was clean, beds were comfy, showers were hot! All that and the famous DoubleTree cookies.... what more could we want?
“Close to VA and UAB”
Stayed here before due to its location in the medical district. VA hospital, UAB hospitals and campus are within easy walking distance. Not too many restaurants within walking distance, but 5 points area is close. Hotel parking is another $10/day and room service amd in hotel restaurant prices are high. Prices went up after Doubletree took over about 4 years ago and remodeled hotel.
“Downtown hotel”
The stay at the hotel was fine. I would have preferred a hotel with a breakfast and the $10 parking didn't help. Part of that is my fault, I shouldn't have chosen a hotel in the downtown area. Overall decent, good even for downtown.
“Clean, nice but NOISY”
nice hotel, clean, great beds, Location was suspect, had a special rate, just didnt mention the $per/day parking fee until checkin.... Had to listen to a parade of police sirens all night long.. location is too near the low rent district. I wont stay there again...
“Falls short”
Super friendly staff. Cool little bar in lobby. Room was clean, comfortable bed, bathroom clean and good toiletries. The carpet was buckling in the hallways at least 3" peaks like it needed to be restretched. With a pregnant wife I was concerned to say the least. When the louder than normal a/c turns off, the sirens from the hospital guarantee problems sleeping. Old tube style tv. Very limited room service menu but lots of places deliver to there. Not worth the price
“Not what we expected”
Our room was clean, big and comfortable. The front desk woman was a bit rude. $10 for parking is ridiculous!! The location of the hotel is good since its near the university. BUT there is no way to sleep because you are overlooking the road!! Our room was to the far end by the road as are much of the other rooms. There were cars going all night long and with that and the really loud air conditioner it makes it impossible to sleep! I honestly think that was the worst night sleep ever!!
