“Clean, well maintained and welcoming staff”

The breakfast was very limited. There was no bread the 4 days I was there except french toast and donuts. Soem people do not eat sweatened items. But the coffee was great and fresh milk was always available.

Days Inn Birmingham is in a great location - basically at the intersection of I-20 and US Hwy 78. ( There is a 24 hr pilot truckstop w/Wendy's) just down the road east on 78). The motel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and roomy. Tho it wasnt listed in description, there was a small fridge in the room. The bed (had a king) was so comfortable. best sleep i've had in awhile. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay there, and I plan to stay there next time I return.

Easy to find off interstate. Not a 5 star but definitely better than a 1 1/2. This is an older motel, but well taken care of. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Danish, cereal, juice, milk, coffee and fruit for breakfast but be on time they stay on schedule.

“Housekeeping was rude but hotel was OK”

The housekeeping staff was rude and abrupt. They spoke very little English and argued with me that if i did not get my room cleaned before 11am that it would not get cleaned. The remote for the TV did not work. The towels were stained and appeared dirty. I bought my own towels from local store. Sheets and bed linen was clean and comfortable. Room was clean. bathroom was clean. The rest of the staff was pleasant.

“Nothing special but could have been worse”

We found this hotel on race weekend in Talladega which isn't always an easy thing to do. There is nothing fancy about this hotel, not that we were expecting there to be. If all your looking for is someplace to lay your head on race weekend then I say why not? It's at a good location right at I65 and I20 which is where you want to be when going to the track and it's only about 5 miles from Lakeshore Dr. which has several places to eat. If your staying in this area for any other reason I would say look for something else.

The rooms had a bad smell and the ac unit was very load keep me up most of the night. The bathrooms are very small. The recliner chair in my room was in poor condition. breakfast was not good if you are diabetic , only sugar rolls and bagels

“Convenience has a price in Birmingham, AL”

So...my companion and I are just passing through from New Orleans to Nashvile and Birmingham was a pit stop. We had no interest in the city and just wanted to stay near the highway at a cheap and cheerful generic chain budget hotel. So...a bit a research and Expedia helps us to pinpoint this particular joint. We check in and my companion asks to use the laundry facilities. The door is locked. They tell him it's not. He tries again. It is unopenable. After much hassle, he finally gets a staff person to send someone to help him. They can't open it. Ridiculous. In the meantime, I notice that the carpeted floor is sticky and the toilet seat in need of being replaced (many years ago). Needless to say, I do not step into the shower. No fridge, no microwave and no food nearby. There are mosquitos in the room eating me. Not great beds either. I have only convenience of the location to recommend and the outdoor pool (in fair weather).
