“hôtel tryp arenal bilbao: très bien situé”

a 2 pas du métro "Casco Viejo" , dans la vieille ville, parfait pour visiter Bilbao à pied. Hôtel confortable et calme, bon accueil. La caféteria de l'hôtel propose un petit déjeuner trop cher. Il vaut mieux sortir le prendre juste à côté, c'est moitié prix.

“Great location!”

Spent 2 nights here in November 2008. The room was comfortable and fairly big for a city-center hotel. The best aspect of this hotel is the location, next to Bilbao's old town. It was very convenient for sampling the city's pixto bars in the evening. We walked across town to the Guggenheim--about a 15-20 minute walk, a pleasant tour of the city.

“excellent value for 3 * hotel”

This was excellent value for 3 * hotel. It's also in very good location for the old town with all its bars and restaurants. Spacious bathroom, decent size twin bedroom and very helpful hotel staff who spoke good English

“central and affordable”

A modern hotel with old world charm located in the central part of town next to the Ria Nervion and the Caso Viejo, this charmer has everything you need. Location is everything in Bilbao and this hotel has it. Blocks from the Gran Via and El Corte Ingles department store. Close to many "Alamentaciones" to stock up for evening snacking or a mini-bar refrigerator ($$$$$). Easy walks to Guggenheim and the Funicular to Artxanda. Gym close by (Gimnasio de Arenal). Train station, tram and buses within blocks. And, the best of all---the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in Europe (been there 23 times). Highly recommended.

“Perfect location; great value”

Ideal location beside the lovely Plaza Nueva; handy for everything. Great base from which to explore Bilbao in a couple of days.

“A very enjoyable tryp !”

Ideally suited in old town in close proximity to many bars cafes and shops. Near the river with river boat trips a short walk away. Very close to a metro station and tram line with another rail station opposite. Cosy cafe in the hotel. Staff very friendly as indeed were the many citizens of Bilbao we encountered.

“Great value, excellent location, lovely staff”

Small but excellent hotel, located right in the heart of the old town. Nice sized room and bathroom, round the corner from great bars, eateries and shops. Five minutes to the train station, 10 to the centre of the new town, 15 from the Guggenheim along the river. Very friendly staff at reception, made a great effort to understand my broken Spanish!

“Fine, but nothing but salad for vegetarians”

Good, friendly service. Close to Basque Museum and railway station, and tram direct to Guggenheim, Palacio de Congresos and bus station. Only shortcoming: restaurant had nothing for vegetarians except salad. TV had CNN but no BBC.
