Advantage hotel

Posted 6-Oct-2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Customer relations training for the hateful woman.
Location: Yellowstone
The guy that checked us in was really good. The lady that replaced him was extremely rude and hateful. Most of the time there was no one on duty. Maids did not speak English so they were of little help with our needs.

Not good.

Old and shabby. The dead bolt on the door did not work and our room was right next to the main sidewalk and street. The check in clerk was a germ-a-phobic. She had to get a tissue to handle my credit card and give us the key. She should wear gloves and a mask if that afraid. If this was a four-star I would hate to see anything less. Was way too expensive for what you got.

Very deceiving for the cost.

Pros: Nothing. I was embarrassed to have family with us.
Cons: Customer service and general room upgrades.
Location: The town was a delight! Lots of touristy things to do and places to eat. Really kept with the Yellowstone theme.
When checking in the person checking us in ask to spell all information. When I tried to give her my driver license because all the info was spelled out she rudely said "I can do this better if you just tell me". There was a constant reminder we acquired this hotel through Expedia as if that was something bad. We then went to our room. There were stains on the chairs and the curtains were falling down due to being torn. The bathroom fan was as loud as a chain saw. An interesting note was having a sink and mirror in the closet! The TV was probably 19 inch. There was WiFi but the signal was so weak it was useless. We went and asked other local hotels about getting a hotel room, but all were booked. They shook their heads when we told them where we were staying.

A slight upgrade from a campground

Posted 4-Sep-2013
Pros: It is close to the park entrance and within walking distance to everything in West Yellowstone. But then again, so is every other hotel in town.
Cons: Maybe some new paint, new furnishings, patch holes in walls/hire a carpenter that does good work and fills in their holes...
Location: The Branch restaurant next door is great and has a cool refurbished Pullman train car on display. The Woodside bakery is great - get there early.
I spend a week or two in Yellowstone every year. This year I didn't really want to camp. Comparing the quality of this room to the various park campgrounds I have stayed at over the years I would probably go back to camping. The room was very overpriced for what you get in return. I'm sure several of the campground facilities in the park have had more recent upgrades than this hotel. The price of the room is a reflection of the limited amount of hotel rooms in the area, not the quality of this establishment. One plus is that the building was very quiet, surprisingly so since given the rickety construction. Next trip I would look elsewhere unless this hotel had refurbished the rooms or significantly reduced the price.

Par for the course in a tourist town, I suppose.

Posted 3-Sep-2013
Pros: Close to park entrance and places to eat.
Cons: Vastly over priced. If this motel were anywhere other than West Yellowstone the rooms would be 50 bucks a night.
It's unfortunate I had to give hotel staff an average rating. The gal working the desk in the afternoon/evening was awesome, however the one working it in the morning offsets it enough to make the combined score average.

Check out other places 1st.

Pros: checking out and leaving
Cons: Add lighting in entry area, and ReTrain the rude, middle aged woman about proper hospitality, she will chase all the customers away. She is bad news.
Location: It is on the main run through the town and is in an ok spot.
The middle aged long brown haired check in lady is more interested in complaining and telling you about how bad her day is than checking you in. She handed me the room keys with a tissue as if it was carrying a disease. Take along a flashlight the rooms are dark.

Hotel stay was very disappointing.

Posted 5-Aug-2013
Pros: It was close (along with all the hotels in town) to eateries in town. Could walk everywhere.
Cons: I believe I answered this question in the first set of questions.
Location: Location was good. It was very close to Yellowstone Nat'l Park, which is where we were visiting.
This place was very low grade for the amount they charged ($158.00.) Everything in the room was very old, carpet was ripped, the door was beat up and they tried to fix it and never painted over it, the curtains were filthy, no remote control for the tv( ours was the only room) because I called the front desk, could not connect to the free Internet. The stay was very disappointing! I'd take this one off your list. The town of W. Yellowstone, MO has a ton of better places to stay.

Barely adequate room in good location

Posted 10-Jul-2013
Pros: Location
Bathroom needed updating: vanity missing door, large pink stain on floor, tub faucet dripped all night, fan hanging from ceiling. Cleanliness okay except except toilet paper wrapper on floor with extra stuck inside roll when arrived. When checking in staff complaining that expedia causes more paperwork. Good location:Near attractions but off side street for quiet. Overall: way over priced for quality and amenities.

Traveler's Lodge - West Yellowstone, MT

Posted 24-Jun-2013
Pros: Close to local activities
Cons: Condition of bathrooms/buildings in general.
Location: Shopping, theater, restaurants, Yellowstone Park, Big Sky Resort
Average motel that has partly been renovated. Nothing special about the rooms, nor facility. Close to restaurants, shopping.
