“Paper-thin walls”

This hotel has a great location for skiers and offers a wonderful breakfast buffet. Although the rooms were renovated a few years ago, the old structure of the building with its paper-thin walls will make you very aware of your neighbors. Doors, creaking noises of people walking over your head and water running will wake you up in the morning and keep you awake at night. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay, I would not recommend this hotel.

“Location Good; Property Not So Good”

For skiing convenience, it's hard to beat the Huntley. The property was probably built in the late 70s or early 80s, and suffers from the types of flaws hotels designed during that era typically have: noisy, creaky, cramped, plastic. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast buffet ample and above average, if not really great. My reservation in recommending the Huntley was the price. For the money I paid, I expect a bathtub that drains at the rate the shower pours, that my room will be done before 4:00PM and a jacuzzi with actual jets. If I paid half that, I would say, "OK deal, for the location." But for the money, especially midweek the last week of operation, I think it was overpriced. I also think the ski room was odd; it was run as a concession and I was charged ($2, no big deal) to leave my shoes there for the day after I checked out. Still, in my ample experience that's the type of amenity that's included in a slopeside room.

“In Bozeman - this seems to be the better hotel we could come across”

Good views outside the hotel. Minor flaws but overall still comfortable. worth exploring that part of the country

“Noisy”

Thin walls and so very noisy, would recommend you request 3rd floor so no one is above you. Hearing someone clomp around all night made it hard to sleep! Also, do not pay extra for a "balcony", it is actually a metal cubicle adjacent to the room. Very dark and cold, recessed into the building with no light, not what I would call a balcony! And there is not really a "mountain view" as there is now a building directly behind the Huntley which blocks the view, at least from the second floor.

“Very Worn and Very Dirty”

The location couldn't be more beautiful, but the property is tired and dirty. You have to take two elevators to get to the second floor. Very inconvenient, just a really weird procedure to get to your room. It was 95 degrees outside and the hotel rooms do NOT have air conditioning and the windows do NOT have screens. When I asked why there was not air conditioning I was told "only a few select rooms have it". Very uncomfortable night's stay. As with a lot of hotels, the lobby misrepresents the rest of the hotel.

“A Disappointment”

Service was significantly below our expectation for a hotel of this class and reputation - and we are almost always very satisfied - and easy to please. The cleaning staff didn't even empty full trashcans each day. The carpet seems to never be vacuumed. The service in much of the Big Sky area (restaurants, stores, bars) seemed just to be untrained.

“Native Montanan”

We were very impressed with the scenery but the lodge and restaurant were very disappointing. The Huntley Lodge reminded me of my college dorm room and I left the dinning establishment looking for something to snack on. Off season prices were too expensive and given the fact that only six guests were registered that night, others must agree.
