“Cozy cabin on the ski slope”
We loved this little cabin! We stayed here during a music festival in Big Sky over Labor Day weekend and it was absolutely gorgeous. All the comforts of home, although it's definitely geared toward four guests rather than the six that can be accommodated (the table seats four, there are four of many of the dishes, etc.). Being able to use the pool at the Moonlight Lodge was a perk. The hot tub on the deck of the cabin was also great, although there are missing pads inside the tub itself so there are exposed screws on which you could easily scratch yourself if you're not careful. My main issue, though, was that I thought I'd reserved a cabin with two queen beds but in reality it had one queen bed and two twin beds (and a sofa sleeper). My husband ended up sleeping on the couch, which was not ideal, but it was probably due to my error. Overall, though, these are minor drawbacks and overall it was a great experience in a beautiful setting. We'd definitely stay again.
“Excellent Find and would love to go back!”
We had a very positive experience. The cabins were fabulous, clean, very roomy, extremely well stocked with kitchen utensils and accessories. Perfectly situated on the mountain as a ski in/ski out.
“Great place!”
The cabin at Moonlight basin was adorable! The decor was beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of it. It was cozy and the front porch hot tub with the view was breathtaking! We loved it!
“A classic Montana experience!”
The cabins are small, warm and very nice. Our cabin looked right out on Lone Peak at 8200 feet and we had a woderful view of sunrises and sunsets. Skied right up to the front porch after a day on the slopes at Big Sky. The Moonlight Lodge was just at the bottom of the hill, and is a very rustic lodge for only being a couple of years old. The hot tub on the front porch was a nice addition to the trip. We would recommend these cabins to anyone traveling to Big Sky.
“Lovely”
Beautiful Mountain Cabins, well worth it
“beautiful place”
fridge was a little tempermental, food was either not cold or was frozen, otherwise everything was wonderful.
“Awesome cabin for Yellowstone visitors during summer season”
I would highly recommend staying this cabin for Yellowstone visitors during summer season. This place is a bit far from west gate of Yellowstone; it takes 45mins drive, but you will enjoy staying clean, quiet and fairly new cabin. 6 of us slept in one cabin which has two bedrooms and one living room. We actually saved big money instead of spending 3 bedrooms with any hotel near Yellowstone. The room was not large but they are very clean. One of rooms has bathroom inside we, all girls, were very comfortable to use bathroom. The cabin has excellent kitchen equipment, and we enjoyed cooking our meals every night and made fresh coffee every morning. There is no BBQ grill. We knew it before we went there. If they provide BBQ grill, we would love to have BBQ party. We also enjoyed using hot tub outside of balcony area every night. We saw fox there. The lobby of Check In building was beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We needed to send fax, and she was very helpful and friendly and even it was free of charge. Lovely place!
“Great for a Family”
Took our family of five, wife, me and 3 boys age 18 months to 7 years old. Had a blast. Great location...ski-in ski-out, beautiful views, great hot tub. Much better than a hotel/condo as boys could run around in the cabin w/out us worrying about poeple next door.
“Cabins at Moonlight Mountain”
Cabin is warm and cozy, very clean, plenty of towels and nice bedding. Hot tub was a plus for this trip, lovely and clean, warm and ready upon arrival. No closets but hanging pegs, take hangers, we had read the other review and went prepared with hangers, plenty of drawers though. Kitchen OK, dishwasher, electric stove, ate most meals out but has full size fridge and even extra freezer. Buy groceries before going up the mountain!! Country Market at bottom of mountain will stock cupboards etc for your arrival. Lodge is beautiful with very friendly staff, food was excellant, even though they were closing for the season 2 days later. Plenty of snow for our kids to play in right outside the back door. Very quiet, and beautiful views from every cabin. We drove to see where the others looked out to. We had the best vacation ever and couldn't of been happier with this cabin.
“We will return”
Great ski in ski out. Great views. Nice lodge with entertainment. The skiing was perfect. This propoerty is in Moonlight Basin ski resort. You can ski to Big Sky for you door. Moonlight skiing is okay. Buy a Big Sky lift ticket at checkin and ski down to likt that takes you to Big Sky. Great experience.
