“Better up than down”
We debated whether to pay more at this hotel (up at Arrowhead) or get a cheaper rate down below and drive up each day. Glad we decided to spend that little bit more at LAResort as it was pretty good value for the price and can't beat the convenience of being right on the lake. Katie was very helpful at the front desk getting a couple of pages off my laptop printed out (at no charge) and the extras for using Expedia (spa, free valet, etc) were a bonus. I'll use them again next year when we return
“If budget allows, Lakeview rooms please!”
I came from Hong Kong and relocated to LA 2 years and found it most of the 4 stars hotel or above are not acceptable in US, to be frank, not acceptable. Thus i made bookings all on international chains. This Lake Arrowhead Resort was a surprise, everything fine, but i suggest you book at least a lakeview room otherwise you will be looking at the carpark during your vacation. One more thing, the wall or sound insulation was not good, get prepare to hear baby's crying, but for me, it was acceptable. Pools, Bin 189 and else were all very nice, but private beach would be too small to go. Walking distance to village, that means you can drink at your dinner and walk back to hotel.
“Retreat at Lakearrowhead”
I would certainly revisit this resort, particularly during quiet weekdays. The hotel was still in transition while I was there, that the old and new informations about the hotel were not quite in sync, but I was told by the new GM, Steve Boswell, that things will be much better real soon. As it was, the resort was an excellent getaway, friendly staff, loved my Popcorn (a Maltese), and the management was very quick to accomodate guests' special requests. The best secret was the Chef who had a great sense of flavor and presentation. If I would be critical to be complete: there are some older towels, mattress pad (had a feel of plastic), and a heavy comforter. But the room is well designed, loved dinning at the balcony looking over the lake.
“Wonderful Weekend”
Incredible location, incredible facility, and incredible customer service. The staff is helpful at every point of the stay. Every part of this resort is wonderfully maintained. The rooms are designed superbly with the beds facing the lake view rather than at the side of the room. Friendly lobby with fireplace for a nice place to curl up with a book or chat.
“Beautiful views of the lake, can't wait to go back.”
This is a beautiful resort and the staff is wonderful. The restaurant onsite is great for a romantic dinner. The entire trip was great!
“The Best of Lake Arrowhead”
This is absolutely one of the finest hotels we've ever stayed in! It is set right on Lake Arrowhead with its own private beach and has a happy pool with live music and snacks. Our room had a terrific view of the lake and was extremely well appointed. The entire hotel has just gone through a multi-million-dollar renovation and the results are superb and perfect down to the last detail. The staff was super friendly and totally attentive to our every need. Although located within walking distance of Arrowhead village, the best restaurant in the area is the Resort's own "Bin189". Enjoy breakfast there all day on Sunday with a breathtaking view of the lake. It is the perfect place for relaxing, getting away from it all, enjoying a cruise on the lake, walking to the outlet stores in the Village, and coming home fresh and happy. A terrific mountain vacation value only minutes from L.A. Highly recommended!
“Nice resort, beautiful surroundings.”
This resort was a great deal. It was clean, convenient, and had great ambiance. Will definately go back.
“Very relaxing, very luxurious”
Lake Arrowhead Resort is a first-class hotel with all the amenities any traveler would need. It appears nearly everything else in the area is in the bed-and-breakfast or condo category, so even though this resort probably doesn't NEED to be so great, it still is one of the nicest places you'll find in an area such as this. The shopping village is in walking distance and has many nice shops and restaurants (although we invariably found the people behind the counters at these shops on the snooty side and we waited a long time to get into the Mexican restaurant). The concerts in the village are very popular. If you like hiking, there's a private trail that circles the lake. Ask the resort concierge for the code to the gate that lets you in. We never used our car the four summer days we were there. It was a very peaceful, relaxing place.
“beautiful”
Shopping /boat tour on the lake
“Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa”
The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was spacious and the shower head was great. The pool was maintained at 84 or higher. The jacuzzi's were wonderful. The spa and massage felt terrific! The hotel recommended the Grill at Saddleback Inn and the food was perfect! The Mexican restaurant and the Belgium waffles were also supurb! The ride around the lake on the Queen was so peaceful. It was a perfect 41st anniversary!
