Great location - Five minutes from the train station and close to the gondola. Restaurant on site, decent free breakfast. Rooms have balconies. Coop grocery store nearby.

Good hotel. Room has a balcony and good mountain view. Clean and comfy enough to rest after a day of outdoor activities. I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the hotel.

Wonderful place to base yourself
Fantastic location in Kandersteg, with really friendly service throughout my stay. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel that isn't going to cost the earth then this is a great place to stay!

Can’t say enough great things about this hotel. Nice and welcoming staff, clean and spacious room, amazing view and location, excellent breakfast. We loved it so much that we extended our stay an extra night! Would definitely stay here again.

I’m not sure if bernerhof means cat or something but there are cats there just to warn those who are allergic! I am but it still wasn’t a problem for me

Another wonderful stay at the Bernerhof
This was the second time that we have stayed at the Bernerhof and once again we were not disappointed. From the time that we arrived until we left, we were offered friendly and helpful service from all the staff from the owners down. The evening meal was always beautifully presented and delicious and offered a good choice whilst the buffet breakfast really set us up for the day. Our room, the same one as we had on our previous stay which was a nice touch, was comfortable and well appointed and we especially enjoyed the small sitting area. Kandersteg is a delightful village surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was really hard to tear ourselves away at the end of our four days' stay. We certainly hope to be able to return again at some point and renew acquaintance with the Bernerhof.

Great stay in the Swiss Alps
We had 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. The service throughout was outstanding from check-in to the restaurant and the owners (Claudia and Gerhard) made a point each day of checking with us that everything was OK. Andreas and Saskia were great waiters in the restaurant, the food was outstanding, it all added up to a great stay. We were so sorry when it came our time to leave and we would love to return to what is just a lovely part of the world. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stunning views and perfect location
If you want stunning views and perfect, central location for exploring Kandersteg and Oeschinen Lake, stay here. It's good value for money. Note: it's a bit worn and it's very functional...classic Swiss hotel. Of course you aren't here for luxury, you're here to enjoy the outdoors. But if you like posh style and push amenities, you'll be disappointed.

Nice hotel with amazing views
This is a nice mountain hotel in the perfect location for exploring around Kandersteg. The view from our balcony was amazing. It is convenient to the train station - about a 5 minute walk. Nice breakfast and really good dinners. The hotel owners are there all day and extremely helpful and make you feel welcome. The room is a good size with a sitting area and a balcony. The bathroom was shower only, but recently updated and modern.

The delightful Bernerhof Hotel
We stayed for 8 nights and were delighted by this typically Swiss hotel with its friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Our front room was spacious and comfortable, and the view from our window of snow-capped mountains and a meadow sprinkled with wild flowers, resembled a picture postcard. Most of the guests were repeat clients, and I can understand why.

Great hotel & fantastic service
Great hotel in easy reach of the train station, restaurants and gondola. Rooms were comfortable with a good balcony view and great shower/bath with plenty of hot water. Staff were fantastic - warm, friendly, more than willing to help. One member of staff saw us sitting in the reception area and offered to get us refreshments - he hadn't even started his shift and, when we left, the owner offered us to drive us the 3 minute walk to the train station. The free use of sledges and complimentry afternoon tea&cake were excellent bonuses for us. We're desperate to go back.

Hotel is a bit old, however very well kept. The location of room (Mountain facing) was excellent. The breakfast was average. Nice and very quite neighbourhood.

Great view and most convenient location
We had a great view from our 'superior' room and the location (a very easy walk from the station) is very convenient. Pleasant staff. Room furnishing is basic (think IKEA) and the hotel is tour group oriented, with an older clientele when we stayed, but was not overrun. Would stay again, probably first choice for Kandersteg.

nice family run hotel
This is a nice family run hotel which offers very good customer service. The hotel is in a convenient location and the restaurant is good. Our standard room included a small balcony, a little sitting area, and a desk. Bed was very comfortable. Wifi was free with our reservation, but requires a password for each device that has to be re-entered each time you use the device. We had to leave one night early because of a family member in the hospital and the owners were gracious and understanding with our last minute changes.

Quaint family run hotel in Kandersteg
A very welcoming experience from the moment we arrived. We had an excellent view of the mountains from our room and the shower was the best we have had in Europe in two weeks! They were very helpful with helping us to change a train time as well as changing money for us! Great that they even had laundry facilities for us to wash and dry our clothes. Would thoroughly recommend them!

Hidden gem in Switzwerland
Very friendly and professional staff. We enjoyed staying there for four days, traveling by car to different locations during each day. Conveniently located within reach to Interlaken, Bern, Grindelwald. Beautiful views of mountains from the hotel. We would love to come back to this place in the future.

Bernerhof hotel stay
The staff very extremely friendly, helpful and considerate. A number of the guests have chosen this as their favorite hotel in Kandresteg and have returned up to 12 times. Hotel positioned to get the best views.

Fantastic Views
I had a room at the front of the hotel looking up the valley towards Lake Oeshinensee. I would love to be able to wake up to that view everyday. The hotel was comfortable and clean with helpful and friendly staff. It met all my expectations and more.

Bernerhof Swiss Q- Kandersteg, fantastic !
Directly faces the Alps. Rooms best described as ultra Swiss-Modern. Rooms had every conceivable convenience. Very clean. Our superior room faced the front of the hotel, and had great, unobstructed, views of the Alps that surround Kandersteg. The hosts were on-site, and frequently interacted with guests. Hosts were knowledgeable about local sights of interests to guests, and gave solid directions and advice. Excellent hotel restaurant. Owner-hosts obviously take great pride in their hotel. We are a retired, mature, couple traveling for leisure, and would definitely book this hotel again.
