“Great hotel in a fabulous location.”

The Savoy Berlin hotel is very nice. Very nice, spacious room with an equally nice bathroom. It was nice to have access to a walk up computer in the lobby. Perhaps even better than the hotel itself was the location. It is wihtin just 250 meters of an S Bahn station. We were able to ride the S Bahn from the Berlin Hauptbahnhof to the station near the hotel and walk to our hotel - quick and no cab expense. The neighborhood also has many wonderful restaurants. I especially recommend Savigny Platz - a short walk down Kantstrasse - for wonderful dining options.

“Close to shopping and tours”

I wasn't sure what we were going to get by booking the hotel online, but I walked into the Savoy and was more than pleasantly surprised. It was clean and modern. The room was large and comfortable and the staff at the front desk were so nice. The hotel is about a block from Kurfurstendam, which is a main shopping street and also where you can catch the hop on hop off tour bus, so it couldn't have been any more conveniently located. The only minor draw back to the hotel is that there is a smoking bar just next to the lobby, because of that you tend to smell smoke but it didn't seem to carry all the way up to the fourth floor, which was good. I highly recommend this hotel for a quick weekend trip to Berlin.

“Comfort, cleanliness and convenience”

I chose to stay at the Savoy because of its convenient location and value for money - a four star hotel for the price of many three star hotels in the same area. The hotel is Art Deco in style and beautifully maintained. My room overlooked the front of the hotel opposite another amazing example of Art Deco architecture. The hotel is 3-4 minutes walk from the Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church and Bahnhof Zoo, two minutes from the Ku'damm and Ku'damm underground station. I was a woman travelling alone but despite this, did not feel unsafe walking around the area late at night. I went in February and it snowed the whole time. Despite this, buses and trains took me all over the city with no difficulty or delay. The 100 and 200 bus takes you to most of the sights - at 2.10 Euros, much cheaper than the official sightseeing tour. Both routes depart every few minutes from Bahnhof Zoo bus station. There is a famous smoking room next to the hotel foyer which, for all their best efforts to keep the door shut, does allow the smell of tobacco into the foyer so if you're fussy about that, be warned. Otherwise, I would say you would be hard pushed to find a cleaner, more convenient, better value for money hotel in the whole of Berlin.

“Great location, but eat elsewhere!”

The room was fine, the service was fine, the price was right. Walk part of a block down Kantstrasse for bus X34 or M49 to Zoologischer Garten, where you can get anywhere else in Berlin.
