This hotel is in a superb position being within walking distance of major sights. It is also a few metres away from Friedrich-strasse station which has a direct connection via the Airport Express train to Schonefeld Airport. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel is newly refurbished and very clean. We didn't have any meals in the hotel as the area has numerous excellent restaurants. We certainly felt that we got a very good hotel at a reasonable rate through expedia.

Great location - very convenient for walking and public transport. Hotel cannot be faulted, very comfortable beds! Staff extremely helpful. Great place for breakfast just north over the river on the corner.

“Ideal hotel for visiting Berlin”

Thi s is an ideal hotel for visiting Berlin. It is centrally located just a few yards from the River. We had a comfort room which was large, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bathroom was fine, again with plenty of room. The staff were courteous and always eager to help and give advice when requested. Virtually all the tourist sites were in walking distance but transport was readily available if wished. Wouldn't hesitate to go there again should we return to Berlin.

“Excellent Staff...Lovely Room”

My first time in Berlin and enjoyed this trip immensely. The Melia Hotel is centrally located, staff is excellent, room was very comfortable, quiet and roomy. I was on an inner courtyard with no view but the view of the Spree and the Bundestag is disappearing anyway as a result of new bldg. across the street. I did not partake of breakfast as it was too costly but plenty of places to eat in the neighborhood. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

“Nice hotel, great location”

Enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Melia. Got a very good rate on Expedia, especially given the excellent location. Not a long walk to Unter den Linden, major museums and other sites. Room was very comfortable. Hotel has an exercise room, although with a limited number of machines. But, that facility is open 24 hours. Hotel staff was very friendly. Very good value

“Top hotel on the Spree -excellent service and a prime location!”

We booked this hotel through Expedia and found it everything we had hoped for and more. We had booked a 'superior' room overlooking the Spree and fully appreciated the view and the hotel's excellent location. We ate in the hotel's Tapas Bar and in the Madrid Restaurant as well as enjoying the amazing range of options available for breakfast. Breakfast options included everything from a full continental or English breakfast to smoked salmon and champagne. The evening meal was real luxury on a plate with the staff working hard to make you feel as if you were the only guests that mattered. We would heartily recommend this hotel to any visitor to Berlin.
