“'Top Hotel'.”
Great Hotel, not centrally located, but not completely out of the way either as some reviews would have you believe. The transport system is so good you're never far away from anything. Helpful, friendly and knowledgable staff at the hotel. Bus stop 2 mins walk away, U-Bahn stop 10 mins walk away. Supermarkets nearby. Everything you need really. Would definately go back if we were ever in Berlin again. Highly recommended.

Great hotel! Not very close to attractions but in a beautiful location.

The hotel offered us a comfortable and spacious room which was well-maintained, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The front of house staff were welcoming and helpful. We used the swimming pool, not the largest but big enough to have a refreshing dip in a pleasant environment. We didn't partake of the breakfast at the hotel because of the price but there were plenty of options nearby. It took us about 10-15 minutes to walk up to Potsdamer Platz but if you prefer public transport, you are within a 5 minute walk of a handy bus route and it's 10 minutes walk to the nearest train station. We were only using the hotel to sleep but it was more than adequate. 5 star standard, no noise from other guests and if you enjoy a walk, then it's position just outside the centre will not put you off.
“Great City Hotel”
Can't fault the Hotel in any way as it was exceptional value for money. Although the breakfasts were expensive at 19 Euro the quality was beyond compare.

Very friendly all around. Everyone spoke English and was very knowledgeable of the area. Hotel was about a 10-15 euro taxi ride to man areas of interest in Berlin.

Awesome hotel. Everything from the bathroom to the bed was great. My only suggestion would be that the hotel open its fitness center longer. It was a holiday week, but they were closed by 6pm on several nights. It is hard enough to stay in shape during the holidays.
“Top notch hotel”
We had an excellent experience at the Grand Hotel Esplanade in Berlin! When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly and professional staff. We were immediately relieved of our suitcases and shown to a very tasteful and very clean and modern room, modern meaning flat screen TV, up-to-date crisp bed linens, new looking furniture and room decor. The bathroom was also nice and very clean, so I didn't feel the need to reclean everything before using it like in other hotels! The hotel also provided terry slippers and robes. We enjoyed using the pool and the gym, which were also quiet, very clean and provided a great atmosphere for relaxing or working out. The outside dining area was also great. I noticed that local business men would come to this hotel for lunch, so this hotel definately isn't a tourist trap. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Berlin Zoo and a bit further to the other sights like the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag Building. The hotel provided a very useful city map when we arrived, so it wasn't a problem finding anything outside of the hotel. I would definately stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berlin.
“A nice place to stay”
The Esplanade is conveniently located in a nice neighborhood south of the Tiergarten. My wife, daughter and I were able to walk to several key locations plus the local S-Bahn station is a short walk as well, Nice restaurants in the area as well, some were relatively reasonable. we would consider using the Esplanade if we return to Berlin.
