“nice place, better than expected”
i had no idea what to expect from this hotel. I reserved two rooms for my family and i and we were on a tight budget. No pictures, no reviews but i went for it. Great place to stay!! i was nervous all the way there. but was incredibly surprised. Its a ways out of town, but a short bus ride and a train ride and you are at the heart of berlin. for the low price we paid, we will stay there again!!
“Too far from the City”
Comfort, cozy hotel but it is far away from the city center. Not highly recommended unless you are departing from Schoenefeld airport.
“Value for Money”
Good value for money. A bit worn out furniture and carpets but overall very clean. Bathroom with shower only, but recently renewed and therefore in a very good condition. Good location in southern district of Neukoelln, away from the crowded areas. Would go there again.
“Not impressed with dirty hotel”
I was really unimpressed with the Azimut. I chose it because it is in proximity of the airport, but wished I had perhaps chosen another hotel in retrospect. I asked for a non-smoking room, but was given a smoking room - I realised this when I stepped onto the corridor near my room and could smell the stench of smoke. The room stunk of it too. There was a hole in the net curtain from a cigarette burn, and when I checked under the mattress, which I always do to ensure no problems with bugs, there was a LOT of hair. I also found a copy of the New Testament lying prominently on the side. I am Jewish. This is not appreciated. I had to change room. The staff were helpful, though initially reluctant, saying they didn't have many non-smoking rooms left, but almost immediately managed to find one. As a non-smoker who specified this as asked by the hotel (something not an issue when staying elsewhere), I naturally expected this to be honoured. The new room was much cleaner, although I found a bloodstain (!) on my sheets, as well as a few isolated hairs and the surfaces were badly scuffed. Apart from this, the room was comfortable and I slept well, but I can't get over how grubby the first room was, as are the corridors and the lift. All I want is cleanliness and a bit of effort and elbow grease. Do not stay here.
“Not impressed”
I arrived late evening and found the receptionist could barely speak English. The hotel is still being developed, so there were building materials in several places and the top two floors were unused. The furnishings were very scant. The television in the room was antiquated and the remote did not work properly. The double bed only had a single duvet. It may be that in another year the hotel will be up to standard, but I would not stay there again within a year.
