“Great Bargain - Exceptional Staff - Very Good Location”
The A&O is a Hostel/Hotel so it is on the minimalist end of the hotel spectrum....but this is exactly what I wanted and could afford. It exceeded my expectations in every way. I traveled alone but wanted a real room with bathroom by myself and this was perfect for me. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful....and the included breakfast was truly wonderful. The amount and array of food held me through the entire day at times. It was like they expected everyone to make sandwiches...as much as anyone wanted. Plus being around the other travelers/borders every morning was a cultural experience worth noting itself. I know this would not please the hyper-critical or those who usually spend most of their time in their room....but for the rest of us, I can't recommend the A&O highly enough. I will stay there again.

Hotel was very good, the rooms were new and very clean.
“Cheap, clean and comfortable”
Really nice and cheap but professional service and conscientious staff. Would definately choose this place to stay again. Close to bus services going all over Berlin so really convenient. Great breakfast. Only problems were with the internet which was limited e.g. they didn't have any messenger on it so couldn't chat with friends and family and the smell of smoke everywhere which is prevalent in Germany as a whole! An all round excellent hotel with fantastic value for money.

Rooms look like an Ikea showroom, all the furniture I've seen there. The area you have to walk through from the train station to the hotel is a little run down but seemed ok. No where near food, but they have a bar. Don't be fooled, this is a hostel. Best place I stayed on my Europe trip though.
“Stay here! It's ideal”
Clean, comfortable, value for money. Nice little bar with reasonable prices. Room clean and comfortable and hotel ideally situated away from the city centre but close to U bahn and S bahn station. Only downside is very small bathroom in room. The acid test is - would we stay there again?...Definitely!
