“A good choice in Bergen”

A good quality hotel in an excellent location. Good service levels overall slightly let down by reception who gave completely the wrong directions to a well known restaurant where we were meant to be meeting colleagues therefore making us late.

“Great place to stay when it's always raining outside!”

The hotel is really a bargain, even though the price sounds high. When you take into account that they have a very good breakfast and excellent dinner included, it works out to be rather inexpensive. Service is great, atmosphere is conducive to sitting and chatting or reading. Only irritation was getting a new wi-fi code every day, and the difficulty of having to constantly logon. Wi-fi service is the only negative, but only for those that use it!

“Fine hotel, good location, overpriced”

This Clarion is a newly-refurbished old Customs house in Bergen. It is very centrally located, literally next door to the Radisson, the airport bus stop and in easy walking distance to the harbor, the fish market, the funicular tram, and etc. The rooms are well done and reasonably spacious. They give you a four hour coupon for WiFi, but will give you more if you need a longer period or have a multi-day stay. The front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly and allowed me to use their front desk printer to print some documents I needed. The one big negative is the price--it is very expensive, especially in the summer season, as are nearly all the options in Bergen. If you need or want a centrally-located good hotel in Bergen, this is it, but you will have to close your eyes when presented with the bill.

“What a suprise!”

Great staff and meals was a plus! Excellent location to be. You do not need to go out to eat, trust me! Go on your tours, excursions,& walks but go back to the hotel to eat! It's included in your stay!

“Comfort in Bergen”

The Clarion Havnekontoret was right on the quay within easy walking distance of everything in Bergen. Great location, funky decor, excellent breakfast and service. The windows are a little small so the room feels a little dark, but everything else was great, would definitely choose to stay there on any future visits.

“Pluses and Minuses”

Pluses: Excellent location on Bergen's historic waterfront. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I love having free wireless internet which was available in the beautiful and comforrtable lounge/lobby. Sauna. Minuses: The rooms are cramped and uncomfortable which is not what one should expect given that the hotel is a bit pricey. There is a definite trend among many hotels to limit the free cable to just a few channels in the hopes (I assume) that one would purchase movies and this hotel has adopted that policy. Like a number of other Norwegan hotels, only liquid soap is available. We were told to buy cake soap at the supermarket if that is what we wanted.

“Beautiful View”

I would definitely recommend staying at the Clarion Collection Hotel Havnekontoret. The hotel seems to be recently remodeled, and the water front view from our room could not have been better. A large buffet style breakfast was included in our stay, which helps any vacation budget. The bus from the Bergen airport drops you off steps from the front door. However, if you want to walk to the bus/train station it is a bit of a hike - especially with luggage. The hotel staff was very friendly, but wasn't extremely helpful as they couldn't help us get on the internet and the only option they suggested for getting to the train station was a taxi, which they reccommened scheduling the pick up for 70 mins before our train left. We ended up walking - in about 15 minutes! That aside, the hotel was clean and comfortable and I would definitely stay there again.
