“The best in town”
The only decent place to stay in Belize. A good clean, efficient hotel
“Wonderful time.”
The staff was great! The hotel was very clean, it had a great view. The hotelhad a huge pook, a nightclub, casino, bowling and a movie theatre.
“Belize City's finest.”
The Princess boasts a casino, a night club with floor show, a cineplex, a spa, a gift shop in the lobby and a pool. All rooms have an ocean view, colour TV and AC. The rate includes breakfast in the hotel dining room and the Calypso restaurant on the hotel dock serves fresh seafood in a charming tropical setting. The concierge can arrange for eco-tours, fishing expeditions or a visit to several Maya ruins. Downtown Belize City is a 10-minute walk from the hotel, there is a family-friendly watefront park next door and a soccer pitch across the street. The security staff are discreet and professional.
“Belize Greatest Hotel”
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It definately met my expectation.
“I'd stay there again”
Good hotel, everything worked. Exterior looks somewhat rundown, but actually everything inside is fine. Room had view over the sea -- the way the building is designed, I think all rooms do. Not much by way of restaurant or entertainment close by -- but the (full service, breakfast, lunch & dinner) restaurant in the hotel is good, and there's another sea food restaurant within the grounds. (I don't eat sea food myself, so no comment on quality.) Cereal and doughnuts are in the complimentary breakfast and heartier breakfasts are available for purchase. I took a walk of 3 or 4 miles circuit from the hotel in the afternoon and felt safe. Not to be done at night; but then, that's true for any location in Belize City. Presence of the casino means security is high -- good for you. Taxis readily available at the entrance. In-room safes (you set your own 4-digit combination). Courteous and helpful desk staff. In room wireless internet available, but pricey. ($2.50 American for 30 min.) Otherwise, a good digs at a reasonable price.

“loved the Princess”
Almost didn't book the room cause of some of the bad reviews,but then realized the pattern...people complaining about the service and condition of hotel were mostly from US,people delighted with it,from another country. We are Americans who, while we appreciate cleanliness ( it was very clean) are not put off by what the box spring looks like! Too busy enjoying the fantastic views and wonderful food in restaurant and at breakfast! We felt safe venturing through the neighborhood on foot during day, stayed in hotel at night, plenty to do there to-we don't even gamble:) Staff was very helpful, friendly. We liked this place, even though ,yes, it's a bit worn in spots. Overall condition was nice.
“Will visit again”
After reading all the bad reviews I was a little leary but was pleasantly surprised. We had a great time in the hotel, the staff was very helpful with everything, if they did not know how to fix it they found someone who did. The bar was excellent and the restaurant Calypso served the best grilled snapper I have ever had, the breakfast buffet was very good. Homemade jams and the yogurt with fruit were great. We had a lovely time and would return there again. I would recommend this place to all. We do not gamble but still had a great time.
“Great Room by Belizean Standards...”
We booked 3 rooms at the Princess. We were impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff. Our rooms were clean, and the air conditioning worked PERFECTLY! (which was important after spending 10 days in the Belizean jungle without it). Our only complaint was with the hotel's room service. It took them over an hour to prepare our order, and the hamburgers we received were mostly raw. Aside from this, our experience here was good and I would not hesitate to book here again.
“Good value”
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Avoid staying on 2nd floor as there is no view. View from 3rd floor and above is very nice.
