“Well managed hotel”
A good hotel is more than just marble & glass. Having experienced indifferent locally managed 4* hotels, (eg. Switching off the heating in the middle of the night) we resolved to stay at a property managed by a reputable international group. We were not disappointed; everything worked as expected, cleanliness standards good, staff helpful, but english sometimes could be better. Location of the Hotel was a bit far from the city centre, but taxis were not expensive outside rush hours jams.
“Luxury at an affordable price”
The service and ambience were great. The details were all covered.
“It's the Shang”
We chose this hotel because it's a Shangri-La... our trip to China was our yearly anniversary trip and we had stayed in a Shangri on honeymoon... Rooms were very nice and restaurant food was good... typical prices even in China...
“One of the best five star hotels I've ever stayed in”
An absolutely fantastic hotel. Attention to detail in ways that I never would have thought of both in the rooms and in the service. An excellent Executive Lounge on the 21st floor. Felt pampered and special during the whole stay. Every single staff member was a delight and met all our requests with fabulous hospitality.Everyone should stay here at least once in their lives. Don't be fooled by the comparatively ugly exterior!
“Exceptional service.”
This is the second time I've stayed in a Shangri-La Hotel in China. The staff is friendly and helpful to those who do not speak Mandarin. This hotel is older than the one I stayed in previously. Some of the furniture/fixtures are somewhat aged but the room was always very clean. The service is what made my stay comfortable and pleasant.
“Being's Best Hotel and its centrically located.”
We were greeted upon arrival by a tradional dressed chinese lady. She took us to our room for check in (no line, totally individualized attention). We were treated like royalty. The hotel is only a year old. The room looked like a deluxe suite. Luxure, confort and royal treatment is the best to describe this hotel.
“Fantastic - no complaints”
Beautiful facilities; friendly, curteous staff; excellent and varied food choices; lovely garden for drinks or a stroll or a view
“Exceptional Service - As expected”
Upon arrival at hotel with limousine from airport, my wife and I were whisked to the clubroom on the 21st floor for a quick check in and to our room which was prepared for our arrival with fresh fruits. The scrumptious breakfast gave us a good start to explore Beijing. The atmosphere of the hotel is of utmost elegance and we felt very comfortable there. Future trips thruout Asia will definitively include other Shangri-La Hotels where available.
“Very Impressed”
Hotel was lovely and the staff were always very helpful and polite. It appeared like they couldn't do enough for you. Facilities were superb and getting to places from teh hotel was easy by getting a taxi right outside the hotel and the staff told the taxi where you wanted to go. The hotel made our stay brilliant and i would highly recommend this hotel if you are going to Beijing.
“My favorite hotel in the world”
This Shangri-La in Beijing's Haidian district may not be a jewel in the hotel chain's crown, but, we feel like royalty when we stay here. The Horizon Club is one of the nicest and best deals in the city and is a welcome respite from the hectic demands of travel, business and family in Beijing. The work staff are friendly and very helpful. The health club is fantastico!! It is the only hotel in Beijing with a lovely outside garden based on the old courtyard style of Chinese architecture, you may feel like you are staying in the Summer Palace! We've been staying here since 1998. Much has changed in Beijing for better and worse, but the outstanding service and accomodations at the Shangri-La have only improved.
