This Ritz-Carlton has an aged feel, which in several ways adds to its charm and appeal. The breakfast was not at the level I was expecting, especially the coffee, but my room rate was quite affordable at the time of my stay. The outdoors view over the area was excellent and the room was clean and amenities to standard. After requesting ice and calling twice, it still took half an hour to receive the ice in our room, much longer than I was expecting. Most other aspects of this hotel were exceptional.

Excellent Hotel!
An incredible stay. The staff were so warm and friendly. The room was very spacious and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Room Service was delicious and the breakfast was fantastic. I highly recommend anyone to stay here. I was very pleased and couldn't have asked for anything better!

Best hotel in China!!
This is my favorite hotel in the world! This is our second stay here as a family and everything was beyond perfect. We stayed here while running the Great Wall marathon and the wonderful general manager, Dale Parkington was waiting for us in the lobby upon our return to offer congratulations! My 10 year old son loves the toiletries at the Ritz Carlton and Julia had a special basket made up for him with all the lotion, shampoo and conditioner a child could want! The best part was the brilliant personalized card they made using a photo of our family from our last stay, welcoming us back. This personalized touch is in addition to the gorgeous rooms, spa, restaurants etc... we will be back for our son’s 11th birthday, and wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Thank you!!

This hotel is very dated and needs renovation. Stayed in a Carlton Suite, and it was spacious but felt old and outdated. TVs were so old and had only about 15 channels. The hallways and room had a moldy smell. Staff was nice, and helpful. Club lounge had a nice variety and so did the breakfast. I hope they plan a renovation soon!

The hotel is very beautiful,convenient location, the service is extraordinary. The breakfast buffet is delicious. Their staff did above and beyond to make guests feel special. My husband had the best birthday at the hotel ever!Thank you so much! We will be back!

Service with a Smile!
The Ritz Carlton Beijing has always been our favorite hotel. We visited on 23 July and stayed for almost one week. As usual, the service was great, welcoming greetings at the entrance, friendly faces, happy staff. We were particularly impressed with the Joanna Gu, the Manager of the coffee shop. She's is attentive, organized, an extreme professional in the hospitality industry! Well done!

Fabulous hotel with wonderful attention to detail
A truly outstanding hotel. The service was fabulous without being too fussy, the room was fantastic, the pool and gym (totally empty on a Saturday morning!) were both impressive and the bar was an absolute delight. I also got a late check-out which really helped my travel plans.

This property is clearly showing signs of age. It is probably the most unglam Ritz I have stayed in. Lobby is small, so is the standard room. The most amazing is the very small and ill equipped gym. I look at a few things is a 5 star hotel - well equipped gym, an elegant bar, if there is an outdoor gym ok but i recognise this is Beijing. RC Beijing failed in all counts. The service staff seem to be a level below the Westin and Hyatt s. Talking loudly among themselves etc. Location is good. This is a 4.5 star not a 5 star business hotel.

Great Hotel
The hotel and people were awesome. The exception to this was the reception. We booked 4 king rooms. When we arrived they tried giving us 4 rooms with TWIN beds. I had to argue with the staff for 20 minutes eventually taking it up to the general manager. 1st they offered 2 king rooms. I then said that since they overbooked to upgrade us. They tried charging an extra $100. per room. The reception manager later lied and said no upgrade rooms were available. We eventually all got king rooms. Sofia resolved this and was wonderful to work with.

This hotel is good but I'll expect more as it is Ritz Carlton. The room is spacious but furniture shows worn out. Breakfast is fine but not too impressive. The Spa is good but quite expensive.

A caring hotel
Very impressed with: 1. Concierge services, very helpful and always very pleasant 2. The housekeeping service is very touching. I left my cough syrup and some 'cold' relief tablets on the table. When I got back to my room one evening, one of the staff left me a very sweet note saying she'd prepared some 'pear juice' in the teapot and hope it helps to relief my cough! I was deeply touched! 3. When I checked out at the reception desk on 28 May 2016, there was a slight 'hiccup' with my bill and my contact address which was amended accordingly. Many thanks for all the staff at Ritz Carlton. We enjoyed our stay!

The restaurant for some reason served us using stained cups a couple of times for me and my colleagues during breakfast.. When we were about to leave for the airport, the paper cups in the lobby for the coffee was stained... We must have bad luck coffee wise...

Real disappointment
Order a hotel car , the hotel actually outsourced this function. The car couldnt start for 15 -20 mins and I was late for my appointment. My friend who stayed at St Regis who was in the same district got there much earlier than me, as I stayed in Ritz Carlton due to the car issues. Although they offered to give me a complimentary car service and waived charges, I already paid a premium to the hotel rather than just flagging a taxi from the airport. In addition, the cup placed at the lobby wasnt cleaned properly, the paper cup were also stained, it was sholcing for Ritz Carlton to have these basic standards not met.

It a 2 star hotel
The building and interior is very old. Need to be renew. Otherwise, i will never dare to use the spa, gym n swimming pool. I had breaky in the executive floor. The egg benedicts were just 2 poached eggs on 2 slices of bread. Does not look or taste good. Even the chinese style breaky tastes yuck. The in-room shopping bag is very lousy. Lots of strings come out.

Great option for tourist trip to Beijing.
As always, we received great service and enjoyed a very comfortable room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. It is close to a subway line that took us to many of the city's attractions. A tip for future guests: it is difficult to direct taxis to this hotel without help. You can ask the front desk for a contact card that you can hand to taxi drivers to show them how to get to the hotel.

There should be a regular bar where you can sit and enjoy. Not just lounges or bars that close at 11pm. Too early. I found my self staying in the room more than normal. I found the ritz in financial district better

An excellent hotel
I stayed five nights in this hotel. My stay was very enjoyable. The room I stayed in (on the 12th floor) was spacious and included many extra amenities such as a TV in the bathroom, a drawer with office supplies (scissors, paper clips, daily newspapers on the floor, etc), curtains that open and close with a remote, etc. The bedding is of a high quality and very comfortable. The room was nicely furnished and decorated. It was very clean, with a maid service twice a day. The staff speaks good English, is extremely helpful and truly service-oriented. You feel pampered at this hotel. The hotel is not in a walking distance to most attractions. However, this is not an issue since it is 2 minutes walk from a metro station. The metro system is very efficient, punctual, safe, clean and reaches every important location in the city. Further, for about $2-3 taxi fare you can get to most attractions. There is a Starbucks and a couple of good restaurnats in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, if you want to avoid the hotel's pricey restaurant. The only complaint that I have is that they charge extra for internet connection. Overall, I warmly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there in my next trip to Beijing.
