“excellent hotel”
The Redwall Garden Hotel, is definitely worth the value. Everything about my stay was a wonderful experience, all of the staff at the hotel, very courteous and professional, I do not have any problems communicating in English. I am hoping later this year I will be able to go back to Beijing, and there is no question in my mind I will be staying at the Redwall Garden Hotel.
“Great choice - peaceful and lovely setting”
First trip to Beijing and really pleased we chose this hotel. Picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel in lovely comfortable car. Given bottled water as soon as we got into the car. Lovely peaceful hotel in courtyard. Big room with arm chairs, very comfortable bed, welcome tea and fruit plate. Great choice for breakfast. Only negative was eating in hotel first night as we were so tired - the dinner choice was either not great or not well explained to us and would have been better as a buffet style like breakfast. Very helpful staff. Close to subway which is great for getting around.
“Nice smaller hotel in Beijing”
We were very happy with our stay at the Red Wall Garden Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, well decorated and pleasant, and we truly enjoyed the relative peacefulness of the courtyard that the hotel surrounded -- it was very quiet for Beijing. If you are looking for a decent hotel in central Beijing (Wangfujing) that is not just another large western chain hotel, then this is a good choice. We would gladly stay there again. The only downsides were (1) there is no lift -- so you need to be able/willing to climb stairs -- some of the rooms are on the 4th floor, and (2) the hotel is halfway down a hutong where the cabs do not usually go, so you will need to walk out to the main street to find a taxi, and many taxis will have a difficult time finding the hotel, or may want to drop you at the entrance to the hutong rather than at the front of the hotel.
“Peaceful Courtyard Hotel”
Red Wall is not far down a Hutong lane in a convenient area of Beijing, just a couple of blocks from a subway station. The rooms are very attractive and comfortable. The staff were friendly and spoke good English, helping us make arrangements to visit the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and some other spots. Breakfast was excellent, with wide variety (fresh noodles available). Very happy in this spot, a bit out of the clamor of the city.
“My choice for any future stays in Beijing”
Best bed we've ever had. you can't go wrong with these expensive DUX beds. Manager upgraded us to a larger room without asking. Very nice furniture and decoration. Breakfast is very good.
“East Meets West - Perfect”
I can't rate this hotel enough. It's the perfect blend of historic Chinese character with modern amenities. The location is great -- walking distance to many of Beijing's historic sites. And very easy access to the subway for longer journeys. The staff were helpful with all my requests, going out of their way to insure I had a great time. The room was superb: great bed, beautiful hardwood floors, plasma TV and a bathroom with all the modern amenities. This hotel has it all. I'd definitely recommend it!
“Wonderful Futong Hotel in Beijing”
Wow! The Red Wall Garden Hotel is definitely the place to stay in Beijing if you are seeking an authentic Chinese experience. The National Geographic Guide Book for China recommends that you find a Hotel situated in one of the narrow alleys that make up many of the neighborhoods in Beijing called "futongs" and this one is great. Our room had wooden floors and ceilings with a large bay window overlooking the courtyard. It had a King Sized bed with memory foam mattress and silk bedding! The bathroom was outfitted with a rain style shower head and we had robes and slippers to lounge in. We awoke to birds chirping and the sound of the breeze blowing through the surrounding bamboo trees. The fragrance of the fruit trees in the courtyard just added to this wonderful experience. The Restaurant and bar is superb - breakfast came with the price of the room. But the staff is what really makes this place come alive. Our "personal" Hotel staff person was "Josie" and we just love her. She made it her personal charge to make sure we were completely comfortable. We are friends for life. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Beijing. We will be back!
“Unique hotel”
The service was excellent. When I got back from dinner, there was a small birthday cake for me - they obviously had realized from my passport that that day was my birthday. The hotel is on a small hutong (street) and is somewhat hard to find, but once you get oriented, it's not a problem.
“It is really a right hotel for me in Beijing!”
My stay at the hotel was truly an unforgettable experience. Being a courtyard hotel, Redwall garden hotel gave me the opportunity to experience Chinese culture and environment while at the same time provided me the 5 star services.I have been in many hotels in China, but it really hard to find a place that is original and maintains such satisfying standard of service. It is a hotel with good location, walking distance to Wangfu Jing Street. The excellent service of the hotel started with the limousine service that picked me up from the airport. After centuries, or at least what felt like, of being trapped in Beijing traffic. The lobby was not the lobby of a normal hotel like, it like a coffee bar or the gallery. The front desk client always smiles to everyone. The attendants are helpful and professional with fluent English. The building of hotel looked like a moden version of traditional Chinese courtyard. The room was surprisingly immaculate and cozy. The best part of the room, as they promised, was of course the king size Dux bed. It really was the best part of the whole deal. The fine traditional Chinese style house furnishings, clean floor and the view of gray roof of Beijing Siheyuan through window, all make me doubt it was my house in China. It’s been quite a while since the last time I had such a good sleep. The experience I had in the hotel worth every single penny I paid. Really wish I could’ve stayd there for a few days more.
“A restful place in a bustling city”
A really delightful place with very attentive staff. Pleasant courtyard design in a hutong -- you will need to use their "meet you at the airport service" as it is hard to find. Don't believe the Expedia map -- it actually shows the location of another hotel in the group. The actual location is very convenient and only 5 minutes walk from the subway. The address is 41 Shijia Hutong.
