“Definitely wiil return to same hotel”
Lots of varieties for buffet breakfast downstairs at the coffee shop, although we were offered to have it on 12th Floor for guests at Premier Floor, as there were less selections. The service at the reception on 12th Floor are English spoken ladies. The concierge lads are very helpful and able to communicate in English. The hotel is very close to subway line(ChongWenMen), about 2 minutes walk on the left as you walk out of hotel. Easy way to get around for RMB 2 anywhere. The thermostat control for the air conditioning in the room actually worked,not like some other ones where we stayed are centrally controlled and therefore unable to set the desired temperature.
“Value for money”
We had a big room with connected living room. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The only issue I had was the mattress was too hard. Location is good, there is a subway just beside the hotel, very convenient. I will certainly recommend this hotel to friends. It's value for money.
“Excellent hotel in great location”
The staff were extremely helpful and had a good grasp of english. The hotel is in an exceptional location, close to Tianamen Square and Temple of Heaven. Also easy access to the subway system with a stop right across the road. We stayed three nights and had no dramas whatsover. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a great location and a very clean and comfortable hotel.
“Right beside Chongwenmen Subway station - really convenient location and good quality”
Excellent for accessing the subway system for getting to Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace etc, and easily reached by train from the airport with just one change of trains (about 35 mins in total). Shopping and eateries close by. Nice room. Excellent buffet breakfast (but can be crowded with tour groups). Free Internet in lobby. Only problem is that Expedia give the address as a street parallel to the correct one! It SHOULD read: 1 Chongwenmen Dajie, Beijing 100005 (right beside one of the Chongwenmen subway exits)
“Great location, great value”
Located approx 15 min walk from the Forbidden City and the Temple of heaven. Clean and comfortable. By no means luxurious but a pleasant place to stay. Good breakfast selection. Pleasant and tasty restaurant on the 4th floor...much better and cheaper than the one located right off the lobby.
“biggest bang for the buck”
the location is great. not only central but also across the subway and a short drive (5 minutes)from pearl market or all the "duck" places. staff is fluant in english and very helpfull. the bed is kind of hard but one gets use to that.its one of the best hotels deals not only money wize.
“Definitely recommended”
Could not have found a better located hotel for this price. Conveniently located subway (2 RMB) station at hotel door, airport shuttle (16 RMB) just a block away, great price, and service. Bed was hard but unexpectedly confortable. Beware of local (and hotel) Great Wall tours that take you to several tourist trap factories - I was taken to 4! Althoug very interesting, they are time consuming and a bit overpriced. Make sure you understnad the details of the tour before booking it.
“Good location and good value”
We stayed for 3 separate stays over a 3 week period. All rooms were good but A block is definitely better than B block. The breakfast buffet was really good, including a range of "English breakfast", continental, waffles, Asian, cereals and fruit. From previous reviews it's possible that these changes are recent. The staff spoke a little English and we generally received the assistance required. The location was great with a subway station outside which was on two lines. About a 10 minute walk to the bottom of Tiananmen Square. Shopping Malls nearby which contained supermarkets. A variety of restaurants within a couple of blocks. One subway stop from the Beijing Railway station and Tiananmen. A couple of blocks from hutongs. The housekeeping was excellent and the room tidied nicely as well as cleaned. Free wifi in the rooms is good but quite slow. There are also 4 or 5 Macs in in the lobby area and I never had a problem gaining access to look something up (once again it's quite slow).
“Beijing's one of the best at affordable rate”
Checking in and out was a bit time consuming, but overall it was a very nice hotel. We will return.
