“Excellent Experience”

This was an excellent experience for us - first time in Asia and Beijing. This is a quality facility at a reasonable price. Most guests were not westerners like us. There was always some hotel staff who spoke reasonable English. Service was attentive, appropriate, quick, efficient. Staff were very helpful giving us directions, helping with taxis and other transportation, and answering questions. Room was comfortable and hotel was quiet. Complementary water and soft drinks in the in-room fridge. Easy walking distance to Beijing subway, tourist areas, and Forbidden City. The restaurant in the hotel was very good, with a very nice buffet - though good meals could be had cheaper in many nearby restaurants.

“Jade Garden Hotel, the best”

We loved everything about the hotel. Since it is fairly small, there was not the usual frenzy and impersonality of a larger hotel. The room was terrific, although we had trouble w/ the shower. We were immediately upgraded, no questions asked. The staff was excellent, and helped us in our site-seeing plans, making recommendations, and interceding on our behalf with an irate taxi driver. Great location, near the Forbidden City, near markets, etc. We would go back in a heart beat.

“Fantastic Location, couldn't do better for a low-to-mid price hotel”

We stayed 2 nights at the Jade Garden in September 2010. The hotel was a little hard to locate (even the taxi driver struggled) because the chinese name is quite different. In case it helps, the Chinese name is Cui Ming Zhuang hotel. The location can't be beat - it's right around the corner from both the Forbidden City and Tiannanmen square, and walking distance to the Wangfujing Shopping area as well as the Night Markets. The hotel is very clean, as was our room. They have a buffet breakfast that is quite reasonably priced (about 53RMB per person in Sept 2010). On our first morning we thought we could do better by looking around the neighborhood for a cafe. But if it is indeed coffee you are after, you'd be hard pressed to find a western-style coffee shop within a 2-3 minute walk. So we caved and went back to the hotel buffet and it was actually perfect - they had a great selection of both western stuff (pastries, baked beans, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, even bread-pudding, an omelet station, fresh fruit, cereal, etc.) and also a traditional chinese selection of dumplings, congees, etc. The hotel staff were very good at calling taxis for us and giving the driver instructions. We found it a little difficult to hail taxis in Beijing as did nearly every other foreign traveller we encountered. If you're stuck just walk into any nearby hotel and ask them to call one for you! All-in-all a great stay at the Jade Garden.

“Great location for Beijing tourist”

We enjoyed the Jade for our 3 night stay. The location was very good for a tourist and the rate was nice also. The staff speaks enough English to get you info you need but not much past that. (maybe 50% staff speaks some English) The wifi is pretty slow but internet speeds in China are not fast anywhere. We loved the breakfast each morning, good selection of western and Asian options! My only gripe was the climate control in the room, no matter what temp you selected it always shows 26-27C. We were there in Oct so AC wasn't very important but we could have used a few degrees cooler. If i go to Beijing again I would stay here again.

“Most comfortable bed I ever slept in...”

We loved this hotel and it's only a block from the Forbidden City. Absolutely amazing place with lots of history. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very good with lots of selection. Hotel had the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. The only draw back if you could call it that is that the taxi driver who drove us in from the airport couldn't find the place and several other taxi drivers over the next few days had the same problem. I'm not complaining though because in every other way the hotel is perfect and for a very reasonable price as well.

“Beijing Forbidden City Jewel”

Chose this hotel based on recommendation from a friend that stayed there 4 years ago (Major upgrades to hotel for the 2008 Olympics). We traveled together on business and wanted to stay close to the neighborhoods and within walking distance to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Excellent buffet breakfast. English speaking front desk and bell boys. Also very helpful arranging private transportation to tourist sites, like the Great Wall. Highly recommend staying here. Added character to our touring and enjoyment to the pleasure part of the front end of our business trip. Great way to experience China for first time travelers or frequent visitors. Xie Xie.

“Very satisfied”

I stayed in the Jade Garden Hotel twice this year, on both occasions with a small baby. I always enjoyed the hotel's convenient location, and friendly and helpful staff. If I have a chance I will definitely choose the hotel again.

“Wonderful Place”

We stayed in one of the business suites and we were amazed. It was soooo clean and such a nice place. I would totally recommend this place. It is close to the major shopping street as well as an excellent proximity to the Forbidden City and not too far away from the subway. We would totally go back.
