“Good Budget”
Our main reason going to Beijing was to see The Wall. We do not use tour guides. We took the subway and train despite getting lost we did get to our destination. The hotel is conveniently located. The people for the of Beijing for the most part are rude and pushy. That's not to say everyone is as we did find some very helpful people. Do not expect there too be much English here. But if you are patient you can get around. I climbed The Wall, so I have no interest in going back to Beijing. PS. Don't ride the bicycle cabs. They over charge.
“Great Location; Rooms, especially bathrooms need renovation.”
The Lobby was well maintained, but I wish the rooms were as well maintained. Beds are hard, but that is expected in China. The room was decent except for the bathroom. The fixtures were rusty, and the shower stall was moldy/mildew around the corners. The shower pressure and water was very good. Had to wear shower sandals into shower because of the mold/mildew. Air-conditioning was great. The Location and price were the best. Very close to the main market strip, and to the Forbidden city. Staff was very good, and spoke english.
“3 Nights in the Basement!”
The place is pretty new and has a great location! My mostly negative review is due to the fact that they lost our reservation (could be Expedia's fault as well) and because of that they put us in a basement "economical" room with no windows. It's a fire/safety issue and it smelled like basement - not what we were hoping for at the price we paid.
“Good location for sightseeing in central Beijing area.”
The hotel is located in the central area in Beijing, close to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square. However, because it's located in busy and expensive(supposedly) district, the room space is kind of limited one. Breakfast buffet was good, well served with both chinese and western foods.
“Convenient”
Close to several sights. For the price the small room is OK. Bed is very hard.
“Honest Opinion”
This hotel was ideally situated location wise. good for the square and the shopping. However, my room was underground, with no window and smelt damp. They left me stranded wit hno cash as their money exchange system is a machine that doesn't take english £20 notes only £50 and £!0's, then charged me £3.80 for a bottle of water in my room as i couldn't change my money to go to the shop. English spoken by the staff wasn't brilliant either. It was ok, but I wouldn't go back again.
“All excellent except services from front desk”
Location is excellent to everywhere but hard to find the hotel if you are new. It is behind the street. It is a safe location because there is a guard outside the hotel. The front desk was not quite helpful even you asked an airline contact phone #, the lady told you to use their internet in commerical room to check it out. She reminded you to charge Y10 for internet usage. When we checked in, we got the ground floor, not basement room. You asked if there was any rooms on higher floor, the receptionist said those rooms are full. However, when you told them you booked the room almost two months ago through Expedia and stated in the order that we prefer twin beds, no smoking room on higher floor. Other lady seems the supervisor agreed to give us room on higher floor, room # is 31xx. Last day we are lucky to have a bell boy assisted us to call for a taxi to airport. He was nice and willing to take care our baggages to taxi. We paid total Y100 for taxi driver based the meter.
“HOEL DISSAPOINTMENT”
VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE SIZE OF THE ROOM COMPARED TO OTHER HOTELS EVEN AFTER UPGRADING. WE ALSO FOUND THE LIGHTING IN THE ROOM SHOCKING. WE HAD TO HOLD A MAP RIGHT UNDER A LAMP TO ENABLE US TO TRY AND READ IT.
