“Pefect Location”
The Dawan hotel was a very good choice to stay in . My girlfriend is Chinese she lives in Tianjin which is the next biggest city near Beijing , she was suprised how good the location was ,i booked it myself from Australia . Its right near the main shopping area Wangfujing only a ten minute walk . The metro is 2 mins away which goes all over the city . There is a seven eleven type convienience store round the corner also some local Chinese eating places which we ate in a few times. The staff answered all our questions , the room was nice and cleaned every day , we had twin room which was quite large we get a better sleep in seperate beds. the aircon can be controlled buy you and can be turned off when needed , we leave it on at 28c just to take the edge of the heat off. the price was very good , i would not hesitate in staying here again when i return to Beijing. there is also a nice cake shop round the corner with all the lovely local creations. The main street has some real top notch hotels like the Lengandale Hotel . Dont search the net for hours just book this hotel and you wont be disappointed.
“Cheap, Convient Hotel with Good Location”
The best budget hotel in Beijing. I stayed here eight nights with my husband in mid-September 2010. The weather was lovely between 25-19 C except on rainy days when it got colder. The bed was a bit hard but we got used to it after a few nights. The economy room was basic but spacious and comfortable with coffee making facilities - no fridge. It would be perfect if the management take a little more effort to keep the carpet cleaned- it looked dirty as though it has not been cleaned properly. Other than that I'm very satisfied with the hotel, considering the rate I paid 4 a hotel right in the city of Beijing. The nearest muslim halal food can be found easily along Wangfujing Street about 15-20min walk or take a subway to Qianmen Street 4 a famous mutton restaurant. The hotel is just about 3-5 min walk to the Dengshikou subway station- subway is the fastest ,easiest and the cheapest way to travel around Beijing. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others .
“Affordable hotel in a central location”
This is a very affordable budget hotel in a great location. Its neighbors include The Regent, Park Plaza, The Peninsula Hotel, etc. The metro station is on the same block as the hotel (take exit C or D). Walking distance to Wangfujing shopping district with several huge malls nearby. Rooms were decent size and clean. Staff spoke some English and they arranged a taxi for me for my early flight out. If you need more detailed information about traveling, etc., you can always use ask the concierge at one of the other upscale hotels nearby. The hotel is nothing to write home about, but it's a great option if you are on a budget and want a nice centralized location.
“Great place for sightseeing”
It was a good experience. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the forbidden city, tian'nan men square, a market place, behei park, as well as a subway station and bus stop to the temple of heaven. The only objection I had is that the beds where a little hard and if you are not used to sleeping on hard surfaces then you won't like it.
“Nice budget hotel”
You get what you pay for, it's a budget hotel. Best part is location, close to metro and Wangfujing.
“Shabby”
What we paid for this hotel was far in excess of the value we recieved - there was very little english spoken, the rooms were not clean, shabbiness was evident everywhere.
“Has been let go. very run down”
I stayed in this hotel in 2005 and it wasn't great but it was ok and was in a great location so I booked again for this trip in 2012. The maintenance man must have be away for the last 6 years. The room smells. The bathroom has cracked tiles and leaks. The sheets have stains on the. The type of stains that you wouldn't sleep on. The towels are old and have holes in them. The room is very noisy and I was on the top floor in a superior room. Last time I stayed it had the bit of smell but everything else was ok, this time it was not. Its a pity as this hotel is in a great location. If they renovated it, it would be great. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I have traveled through asia and south east asia many times so I am not that choosy with rooms as they are cheap. But this room I believe has become to a state that is not comfortable to stay in
“How does this hotel have any good reviews?!”
We arrived, to rude service, the lifts were slow, the door key wouldn't work. The room was 2 single beds, we had booked a double, went back to reception, they didn't care, just said, 'tomorrow'. The room was horrible. Old, just horrible. The bathroom had rust all over the plug holes, tape holding the pipes together and there were ants. We didn't want to sleep there, it was a place where you imagined waking up and you'd be covered in insects, we left the light on all night. Hardly slept. Risked a quick shower, didn't want one but after travelling it was required. I have nothing good to say about this hotel, except we checked out the next morning.
“Watch out”
Me and my wife have been travelling a lot,but I think this was the worst hotel we ever stayed on.I cant even understand that Expedia has this hotel in their program. The first room smelled so much from the bathroom,I think we would never waken up in the morning. The next room smelled only awful in the bathroom. Both rooms were not clean. There were no matrass in the bed.Of course it was a cheap hotel but the pictures in your program was quite allright,so of course we would have changed hotel if we had not been there so late.Positivly thinking"it was an expirience" Our 2 first days in Peking living in Jade Garden hotel Was Wonderful.
