“Traveller from London”

This hotel is a must. The satff have very good English and are human rather than the 'corpotate androids' found in 'larger' hotels. The initial arrival may have you wondering what you have booked but once inside and exploring the city you will fall in love with the hotel. Located a 5 minute walk from the subway and the city is totally available. A real Chinese experience that I would recommend to anyone. The free internet access from your room was a surprize and a bonus. Go on book it.

“Beijing”

Perfect place to get away from the busy city. A quiet and immaculate little oasis down Dongsi si tiao alley who's attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. With a staff that is very helpful and attentive, from getting tickets to shows to calling and arranging cabs, they made sure our stay went as smoothly as possible. In addition, the included breakfast was an added bonus. They provided enough food, coffee and juice to get us going in the morning and then some. Do yourself a favor and forget about the big hotels and experience some local character by staying at Double Happiness, you won't regret it!

“Great Hotel in a Great Location”

My wife and I visited Beijing for the first time. A friend recommended Double Happiness and we loved the experience. Great staff and great rooms. Even with very reasonable rates, a free breakfast was provided. The visitor has a choive of Western or traditional Chinese breakfast. The traditional Chinese breakfast was varied and wonderful quality. We also loved the location, easy to get a real feel of this city neighborhood. Would highly recommend this hotel. “Brilliant Hotel”

I found the Double Happiness hotel one of the nicest hotels I stayed at while in China. Be prepared it is down an alley way right in the Hutong, but that means you get to see how the local people really live. The staff are really helpful and the rooms really nice and very clean. The whole atmosphere is lovely.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans cet hotel situé dans un hutong, une ruelle typique de Pekin. Passés les abords de l'hotel quelque peu désarmant, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans un veritable havre de tranquillité. Les chambres sont magnifiquement décorés, le petit dejeuner est tres fourni et surtout les nombreuses receptionnistes, totalement bilingues en anglais, se plient en 4 pour vos moindres demandes. Tout etait reuni pour passer un sejour inoubliable. De plus, l'hotel est situé à 10 minutes a pied du métro. Bref un hotel que nous reconmmandons sans restrictions

“deep dive in Beijing”

The double happiness hotel is a classic Chinese court yard hotel with small rooms. It's not a luxury place to stay but their service is excellent, the staff is very friendly and the hotel situated in the middle of a hutong, so an excellent place to get to know Beijing.

To really experience Beijing, a stay in a hutong hotel has to beat a plastic chain hotel for style and fun. The Double Happiness has an authentic location in the house of an old Chinese scholar, with colourful silks and lanterns, attentive friendly staff, a beautiful peaceful courtyard, but also that essential for 21st century travellers - a modern, wonderfully appointed bathroom. Don't miss it!

“Authentic Chinese experience, very warm and friendly.”

We wanted a Chinese hotel experience and the Double Happiness delivered.The staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly and speak very good english. Presentation of the rooms is fantastic, always serviced and so warm even in the middle of winter. I can't speak highly enough of this hotel, it was just a pleasure to have spent our holiday there.
