Hotel was very nice. Our room did have some details that require some maintenance (shower door hinges particularly), however nothing too concerning.
Hotel is VERY big, if you include all four areas (Bavaro, Punta Cana, Palace & Turquesa), each with it's own restaurants, bars & pools. All accessible by mini-train (Disney-ish style).
We enjoyed all the pools and buffet restaurants (surprisingly good food), however some a la carte restaurants were too busy. Tip: be at these restaurants way before 6pm.
Staff was very friendly, we were always greeted nicely, even by maintenance staff.
Disco was very entertaining. Sports bar could have been better. Beware of some pushy souvenir sellers around the pool areas some days of the week (they do not take No for an answer).
Overall we enjoyed this hotel and would definately stay again when we travel back to Punta Cana.
Can't beat Punta Cana/Bavaro area. Beautiful beach. The Royal Suites Turquesa Adults-only rooms are amazing. I've stayed in a lot of different resorts, and this had the best room (we chose swim-up) by far. Food was disappointing at the Turquesa, but was great at the rest of the Palladium. Over the years going to the Dominican, I see them abandoning more of their traditional food and trying to please the other cultures. But honestly, the best food we had was an excursion to Saona island (a must see) where we had grilled fish and chicken with rice and beans. The Turquesa in June was low key. No social director, and not much happening at night for a 30-something crowd. Disco at the Palladium was disappointing. If you are wanting a quieter trip, spend time with your significant other, go here. If you want a younger, more social experience, this may not be for you. If you're from the U.S., get used to the food not being like it is at home. You're in another country... It was tough getting around, golf carts everywhere, but they'd only stop if you stepped out in front of them. Palladium is so big it takes awhile to go anywhere. Still a beautiful place.
this was our third summer at Majestic Elegance and they only get better every year.We have seen the improvments to the grounds and a good staff has gotten better. We look forward to seeing you next year. This place has become our vacation destination.Junior was our best butler yet he really takes care of his clients.
We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly at this resort. Gorgeous location on the beach. Very clean and hospitable. Great for families - lots of pools and activities to choose from. All inclusive restaurants are ok; several have spectacular view of the Caribbean.
The activities were great and very entertaining. Much more of a party resort than the place I had previously been.
The hotel room had some issues with the bathroom as it constantly flooded and then wouldn't dry even after leaving the fan on in the bathroom. Our ceiling fan didn't work, and some light switches were finnicky and sometimes the lights would go out. The bed was comfortable though.
The food was great, so much variety and it all tasted delicious!
On the eastern side of the Dominican Republic, the town of Bavaro was originally settled by those working in the nearby resorts on the beach. The town quickly became a center of services and also boasts 10 miles of seashore. Hundreds of hotels, as well as shopping centers, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and medical services, can be found here.
