"Good location. Room reasonable little interaction"
My partner and I arrived on 13.3.15 for her birthday weekend and stayed till 16. Hotel is close to metro- good. Easy to find- good. Located well for la marais area - nice, Picasso musee close as was Pompidou centre- v nice. Check in was pleasant. In French or English We had room 135 in gaugin. The hotel is situated around Central cobboled courtyard with awned sofas which would be lovely in summer... We chose not to have brekkie for €20 each and wasn't included in the price. So apart from using the room, (which had hob, fridge (which froze everything) and a microwave), comfy bed tv with Bbc, itv and usual Cnn Al jazeerah in, we didn't really interact with hotel which seemed to have an ophthalmologist seminar going on... Our room was the first in the ground floor- sadly this meant that when the staff arrived for morning work their service room was near by and was a bit noisy- as were the leaving guests ( lifts there too), and the noise of casters on the courtyard was intrusive too... But we didn't go away for the weekend to lie in bed all day... So on the whole fine- not awesome but the noise issues aside a good location and totally adequate.

Pocket Guide: Bastille - Republique, Paris Family Hotels

Northeast of Place de la Bastille, this working-class neighbourhood is gradually becoming fashionable with younger Parisians. Trendy boutiques, cafés and bars are replacing the older shops and bistros, although some old-fashioned workshops survive. Left-wing sentiments are aired here annually on 14th July when France commemorates the Revolution. A few paving stones mark the site of the former Bastille prison.
