Expedia asked me for a check-in rating, but I was afraid the hotel might backlash on me if I rated the hotel badly while still staying there. So now that I am safely home, I can only say that it was disappointing, starting with check-in. First, someone who spoke English had to be fetched. Then we were told that parking accommodations were not worth one-night stays, such as us. The room was all right, but far beneath the previous 4-star hotel where we stayed further north. It boasted excellent storage facilities. However, things slid down from there. The carpet was horribly stained. I didn't know how to rate "room cleanliness" when the room had been cleaned, but not to the point of removing stains from the carpet or the usual problems of seaside establishments, such as corroded chrome fixtures or worn wood. Why were no international TV channels offered? No sea views. Definitely not a 4-star hotel.
