Good choice for a one night stop over
Campanile Hendaye is a convenient hotel for a one night stop. The reception staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room was functional and had coffee making facilities which was a bonus the only real let down was that the plug in the bathroom was broken and it wasn’t possible to have a bath.

A fairly basic hotel, not much around. Taxis are a rarity here, we waited for 1 hour at the station and made sure we ordered one the previous night on departure.

Good.
A nice welcome from the staff. Nice beds. Bath and shower in bathroom. Quiet. Easy parking outside the rooms. Nice breakfast buffet.

Map and directions were wrong on Expedia website by the time finally found hotel it had closed after my 11 hour drive! Message in French left on door and I don’t speak French so took me a total of two hours in pouring and freezing rain to find hotel and finally get a key to the room from an automatic box after I managed to work out the ambiguous message. Even more drenched and cold by now! Hallways to room smelled of cat pee although actual room was clean but very tired. Not worth over £62.00 per night worth more like £25 - £30. Not impressed.

Hi, Map and directions were not wrong, i am just verified and there are correct on the expedia website. Our reception close at 23:00 all the day and without news from your part before, we have put your key in the external box. Usual campanile fayre nothing exciting it was adequate for our purposes although a tad expensive especially to eat and drink

Hotel could not find the booking when we arrived Reception very speedily accepted an error had been made and immediately made amends by finding me a room and guaranteeing that amount already paid to Hotels.com would be accepted.

Good value option
Nice clean hotel. Good bar restaurant . Freindly staff. Would be more convenient for people with cars as its a long ish haul into town/ the station takes about 25 mins on foot . However there are buses and a big supermarket nearby. It is a good base for exploring the area.

Great for short stop-over.
As usual, stopped 1 night on my way to Spain. This motel-style hotel is lierally 3 minutes drive off the motorway north/south. Rooms are smal but cofortablr e and the food in the restaurant excellent. A few minutes drve away is a fantastic sandy safe beah.

Find another place to stay.
THE bed and the overall place was not very clean. The bed had hair and the place had a weird smell to it. It had a Motel feeling in my opinion. I wouldnt recommend it. The place needs to be remodeled and the wifi was weak at moments. The service was okay, nothing out of the ordinary, its just that the place, the bed , the shower were so uncomfortable.

Hendaye stop on way to Costa Del Sol
2nd overnight stop on way to Costa Del Sol from Scotland. Hotel is easy to find with parking for your car FOC. The reception was helpful and efficient and we would stay again. The town is unusual as one side is France and the other Spain. If you need to fuel up it is cheaper on the Spanish side. The hotel resteraunt is good value, however the drink is expensive. I would use this hotel again

This hotel needs some refurbishment. However, staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was good. Quiet location outside the town - would have been peaceful but for the early bin men!

A very average hotel that is in dire need of renovation. It does not come up the standards of other Campanile hotels that are "second generation". To its credit the evening meal was quite acceptable.

Staff make up for any facilities shortfall.
Having stayed here in previous years we have no hesitation in rebooking. Although the bedroom facilities have not yet received the Campanile refurbishment programme, the staff and food are very good.

Needed a plug for charging phones etc which were crucial to our stay as we had to coordinate with relatives. Staff kindly provided this.

Very nice and comfortable and safe.
I was very pleased. The room was nice and the adjoining restaurant was very nice. However, since this was an overnight as I travelled, I wanted something within walking of the train station. The ad indicated it may be close to the Gare, but it was not so close. The road sinage from the Gare to the hotel was poor so I was confused. I needed a taxi for my return in the morning to catch my train.

We arrived almost as the hotel reception closed at 11 pm. (Late train, no taxis.......). we got a warm welcome from Sandie on reception and even though the restaurant was closed, she went off and personally made us a sandwich. Outstanding customer service and I hope her bosses read this.

My train was two hours later which didn't give me enough time to get there before 11 pm when they close and they had a sheet posted on the main doors telling me how to get access to my key from a box. I was so grateful as I was unexpectedly late. They were also really accommodating for my lack of French.

Stayed overnight on our way to Alicante. We have used Campanile before, although not this particular one, so no surprises. The receptionist / waitress was very good, attentive and polite. We ate in the restaurant and had the steak "plat du jour" which was excellent value. Room was clean and warm and quite. Would use again if on the area

Imagine a motel 6 with a decent restaurant.
This is a motel, imagine a motel 6 that has a half decent restaurant. Internet in room is not for business purposes (bandwidth to low for Skype conferences, it drops out suddenly). Check your email or weather just fine. Location is fine as both towns are small and street parking is abundant. Desk personnel are better than most motel keepers, they are multi lingual, happy to help you with exterior arrangements and pleasent.
