Situated on the western shore of Lake Simcoe about 60 km north of Toronto, Barrie is a thriving city with much to entertain visitors. Sun seekers flock to its beaches in the summer months, and in the winter the surrounding ski resorts and snowmobile trails offer plenty of excitement. The historic downtown area is fun to wander around, and there are a number of festivals held throughout the year.
