“Excellent Hotel”

This hotel is definitely great! I would say the hotel is more like a 4 star and not the 3 stars that it is given. The service is excellent, and there is free internet access in their lobby. The employees are friendly and helpful as well. English may be a bit of an issue, but other than that, excellent hotel, located in a great, upscale, safe area, will surely stay there again!

“Best hotel in best location”

Hotel Wilson is on one of Barcelona's main streets (Av Diagonal) and it is in quiet neighborhood, surounded by shopping centers , resturants,bars and clubs.

“Wilson Boutique Hotel, Barcelona - Superb”

This hotel is slightly out of the city but a 40 minute walk to several attractions. Fabulous family room. Very large with sliding glass doors to partition off bedrooms. Very modern and staff were really helpful. I would definately stay there again.

“Nice boutique hotel”

The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. The room (we had junior suite) was very comfortable, but a bit dark. No direct light in the bedroom area. A buffet breakfast is available for the additional charge, which was too expensive in our opinion. You can have a breakfast in the cafe outside for the fraction of that cost. The metro, and bus stops are very close, but everything is in a walking distance. Overall we loved the hotel, would recommend it to our friends, and would stay there again.

“Great hotel in a wonderful location”

Having stayed at this hotel before, I knew that when I returned with my wife to stay both before and after our cruise, that there was no choice but to stay here. The staff is friendly, the rooms clean, free Wi-Fi, and a computer to use in the reception area. I just love the location. It is away from all the noise and "pickpocket central" of Las Ramblas. Yet, it is a five minute walk in two directions from two Metro lines. Also a five minute walk to a point where you can catch two of routes for the Hop On Hop Off tourist bus. Lots of inexpensive resturants nearby. The hotel recommended El Mussol, which turned out to be inexpensive, and quite good. The hotel's breakfast buffet is a tad on the expensive side, so we went to a cafe nearby. The neighborhood is a commercial shopping area, but is very quiet at night, plus is very safe. Las Ramblas is just too busy for my tastes, plus is the worst pickpocket area in the world. A cab ride from the airport runs around 32 euros, and to the cruise port is about the same. Next trip to Barcelona, we will stay here again.

The Wilson was the first of a dozen hotels we were to stay in during our trip across Spain, France and Italy. As it turns out, it was probably the best value for money and one of the better hotel experiences we had during our three weeks. First off, choosing the Exiample district over the more touristy Les Ramblas was a good move as the area was pleasant (more of a business district with upmarket shops and fewer tourists), with plenty of public transport. The hotel building is compact, sited on a wedge-shaped corner and our double was smallish compared to the average Australian hotel room. However the style and clever layout made up for its size. And being located right on Avinguda Diagonal put us next to public transport. Some people complain about noisy hotels but with our double-glazed windows there was no noise problem for us. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful. We'd definitely stay there again.

“A great hotel”

Booked this hotel after reading the reviews and will certainly be going back. Good quality rooms - we stayed in a standard room and it was perfect. Not huge but prefectly sized if you are out and about the city. Reception small but very friendly. Perfect english! The location is a good area of town, but as others reviews say, its a good 30 minute walk to the Ramblas. However whilst checking in we were told the number 58 bus stops on the corner near the hotel and gets to to the main square in 5 minutes and we didnt wait more than 10 minutes at any time of the day. Other plus points : Great shower and bathroom, rooms double glazed so not a sound from outside and 24hour reception

“Excellent choice”

This hotel is brilliant value for money. Interior decor is very modern, trendy and high-spec. We had a room at the front at the hotel, which was extremely quiet despite road traffic outside; our friends had a room at the back where the windows were not as sound-proofed and was quite noisy one night with people returning from a night out. Our room had a shower which had a glass wall into the bedroom and lacked privacy, whereas our friend's did not. However, these were just minor issues and did not affect our stay. Beds were extremely comfortable. Did not try the hotel breakfast as there are plenty of cafe bars where you can get coffee and croissants etc nearby. However, this seemed to be an area which serviced workers from nearby shops and offices for lunch and lacked suitable eating places for dinner in the evening. There is one lovely Italian restaurant across the road (Tagliatelle's) which was great, and not too expensive. This hotel is perfect if you don't mind a good 15 minute walk from the metro stop. The open-top touristic bus is more convenient if you have a one or two day ticket and stops not too far from the hotel. There are many good clothes shops along Avenue Diagonal, alongside the hotel. A great stay and would definitely stay there again.

“Super Wilson Hotel”

I think the hotel must have been recently refurbished as everything is very smart. Rooms are a good size, with excellent showers. Breakfast is good value and served in a lovely room overlooking the Av Diagonal. The usual full and fresh buffet. Nice to be in an area where there are plenty of authentic bars and restaurants which were very reasonably priced, and considerably better value than those down near the more touristy areas. You are a pleasant 20-30 minute walk from the Sagrada Famiglia, and the main shopping areas, and a short walk to the Diagonal metro station. I would definitely use this as a base in Barcelona again.
