“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, can't wait to go back”
As a family of four (including two teenaged daughters) we found this to be an ideal place to stay. We had booked a family and friends room (with two bunk beds), but on arrival we were upgraded to a two-bedroomed suite which was really spacious and comfortable. We were able to check in four hours early, and the hotel held our luggage for us until we were ready to return to the airport in the evening, so that we could enjoy our last day in Barcelona to the fullest. We read the reviews prior to booking, and there was some negativity about the location. We were on a busy road but didn't find noise to be a problem, and the location was nowhere near as 'seedy' as some people had led us to believe. In fact, we were perfectly positioned to walk to the harbour which was only 5 mins walk or 10 mins stroll (really lovely shopping centre and restaurants. Columbus Square/Las Ramblas also only 5 mins away, and it was really easy to get to other parts of the city on foot and always find our way back again. We found the staff to be courteous and attentative at all times; they were able to book some excursions and sold the open top bus tour tickets (highly recommended) at no extra cost, and we could jump the queue, so it was all good! We are not really breakfast eaters so didn't take advantage of having breakfast in the hotel. There was a Lidl store in the street behind the hotel handy for snacks and drinks to have in our rooms. Can recommend this as suitable base for a family like ours.

“BON RAPPORT QUALITE PRIX”
Hotel à recommander. Bonnes prestations. Très bon service, personnel aimable. Chambre spacieuse. Nous avons demandé une chambre donnant derrière. Donc nous n'avons eu aucun bruit pendant notre séjour (4 nuits) et avons très bien dormi ! Les petits déjeuners sont très copieux. Buffet à volonté très bien garni ! Peut permettre de manger très léger à midi. Le métro est au pied de l'hôtel. Et les Ramblas à moins de 10 mn à pied ! Tout était parfait.
“Super Hotel, Location & City”
Just returned from a 4day break in Barcelona, normally when booking a hotel abroad I drop a star off the rating as have been disappointed in the past on what they class as 3* accommodation, so was pleasantly surprised to find Tryp Apolo lived up to its 4* rating, hotel was very clean both in communal and private areas, we upgraded to the breakfast on arrival and found the array of food on offer was huge & well worth the extra 11Euros. The hotel is situated with easy access to the main Las Rambolas hive of activity approx 10mins walk away it is also close to the harbour and you can reach the beach with a 15-20mins walk- The staff were friendly and very accommodating- we had a late departure due to our flight and they stored our luggage in secure room for us prior to our collection, would definitely recommend hotel & would not hesitate to return in the future.

Comfortable room, good breakfast (extra). Nicely located near metro and Montjuic funicular. A few minutes walk to harbour and Rambla. Recommended.
“Wonderful”
The hotel is within walking distance of most attractions. Desk staff really helpful and will provide you with maps etc. It is a safe area to walk as my daughter and I did most evenings. We had breakfast included in our price and it is well worth it. The hotel puts on a spread fit for a king!I would use this hotel again.
“Excellent hotel throughly recommend”
This is an extremly modern and well appointed hotel with all the facilities you could require. It seems to be aimed more at the businessman and women, however we had an excellent break here. The staff were fantastically helpful and could not do enough for us. The breakfasts were really nice and there was an excellent selection; don't miss out on the tortilla in the back corner (where the nice lady does the omelette's) There is a Metro stop 15 seconds away from the front door and bus stops not much further; Las Rambalas is about a five minute walk away. “Great Hotel”
An excellent hotel for sight seeing in Barcelona! There is a metro station almost next door and in only a short walk there are a variety of shops, bars etc and the harbour area.
“Tryp Apolo”
This hotel is a very nice 4 star hotel placed less than a 10 minutes walk from Las Ramblas in one direction or the waterfront in another. It has a metro station (Paral Lel) literally on the door step. All travel guides will tell you this is in the red light district of Barcelona it's really not with only the Bagdad sex show opposite being out of place. We stayed on the top floor off the main street and it was very quiet even at night. The hotel staff were very friendly and the counter staff speak perfect English if your Spanish is not so good. The maids give clean towels and sheets every day and clean the rooms to an acceptable standard. The only gripe would be the claims of wifi and a fridge. Wifi is very expensive( €9 a day far too much for casual use) and the fridge is simply a minibar with no room for little more than a couple of drinks. The room service prices seemed good although we did not order any as there are so many restaurants and bars nearby. Carrefour and St Josep's market are a 15 minute walk/3 minute metro ride away so safe money and opt of the hotel breakfast and head there! All in all a lovely hotel would highly recommend.
