“A Good Hostel”

The only complaint I would have is that the cars are very loud at night as they drive past, but that is not the fault of the hotel. Everyone was very kind and the place was kept very clean. Even though it was a shared bathroom, it was kept clean enough that it felt like we had it all to ourselves. It may not be right in the mix of bars and shops, but it would only be noisier if it was, so its ok. It is only a short walk away. We did have trouble locating it at first, but it only took about 5 minutes to figure out which door we were looking for. Overall a very pleasant experience, and for the price, very hard to beat.

“What a nightmare”

I have booked a 3 day stay in a single room with shared bathroom at Que Tal hotel in Barcelona . The place was horrible. It was filthy; the floors in my room and in bathrooms were dirty. The bathrooms were repulsive, it seemed like all the toilets were broken and never flashed. I was afraid to touch any door knobs, as I didn't know who touched them and when they were cleaned or when anything was. The place was cold and very noisy. It seemed that walls were made of paper and I couldn't quite close the window facing the street. I woke up in the middle if the night freezing and didn't feel safe there either. When I turn on the light, it made such an earsplitting sound that it gave me headache (as ridiculous as it sounds). The cigarette smoke was coming into my room through the cracks in the doors leading to the hall and to the adjacent room. I had to stayed there one night because I flew into Barcelona after midnight. However, the first thing in the morning, I found another hotel and I just checked in. I just could not stay there anymore. The place exceeded my worst nightmare and I had stayed in hostels and two-star hotels throughout Europe in the past, and never ever experienced anything as unpleasant like this. When I came back to pick up my luggage and check out, still before the check out time, the creepy man at the reception told me that he is charging me for two night because that was the “hotel policy”. He was so creepy I was afraid to even argue with him.
