“Great Hotel!”

Excellent location, just off La Rambla - only a 2 minute walk! So great because so close but no noise! Lovely hotel, very clean.

“Reasonable value for the money”

My sensitive back craves a mattress that successfully supports it at night. Happily this was the case at Principal Hotel. Thus I awoke with a smile to enjoy a clean room and bathroom, a fine location in the city, and a perfect restaurant catering to vegetarians just across the street. Even my meat-eating wife enjoyed eating lunch there. Towards the end of our ten day stay I turned to the front Desk for help in finding the phone number of the airline we'd chosen. Principal's front Desk receptionist contacted the airline for us and reconfirmed the return flight. He was courteous and helpful in many other ways. All in all, the hotel is excellent.

“A good quality hotel in Barcelona”

I recommend staying at this hotel, good quality in every way. However the hotel is located on a small side street in an area that seems a little intimidating late at night. Nothing to worry about if you are careful and don't wander around late at night here alone - which is sensible advice in any City late at night.

“Super Weekend”

Hotel lovely and clean. Brilliant location and friendly staff. Only lows were a very hard bed which took a bit of getting used to and the breakfasts are not that great. Cold beans, hot dog sausages and scrambled eggs don't do it for me.
