“Close to Rambla”
A very convenient hotel within walking distance of the Rambla and some Gaudi buildings.
“Great location, well-lit rooms”
Amazing location. Steps from Universitat metro and the Placa da Catalunya, but remarkably quiet. Sleek remodeled rooms. A true find.
“Top place to stay”
Great hotel - modern, clean and so conveniently situated just off Placa de Catalunya and La Ramblas. The staff all spoke good English and were extremely helpful. Breakfast is great. Everything's available from fried stuff (eggs, bacon, sausages etc) to cereals, fresh fruit, cold meats, toast, coffee, orange juice, and being a buffet style you can really set yourself up for the day.
“Clean, comfortable, well located hotel”
Excellent hotel in great location, really close to where the airport bus link drops off and a few minutes walk to the la rambla and the shops and restaurants. The roof top terrace is great to relax after a long day sightseeing.
“Very comfortable, great location”
This hotel is ideally placed for sight seeing with Placa de Catalunya at the bottom of the street. The room was very comfortable and a great size. Our room had a small balcony which was great for watching life go by and the roof terrace was great for relaxing with a drink. No safe in the room but you get the free use of an exclusive safety deposit box behind reception. I plan to return to Barcelona in the very near future and I will defintely be staying in this hotel.
“Impressive, good value for money”
I was expecting a typically lacklustre 3star hotel but was very pleasantly surprised. New and chic, nice rook terrace, decent sized rooms and clean new bahroom. Nice staff who put up with me and my drunken mates.
“Superb central location to explore Barcelona!”
As others have mentioned, a pleasant modern hotel with large clean rooms and friendly staff. Ideal location as only a few minutes walk from La Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter plus a number of metro stations. Room had own balcony for people watching. Only down side was twin beds that moved apart at the slightest movement!
“Good Value”
Good value. The service was excellent.
“Enjoyed the stay”
The hotel is in the perfect location. We spent five nights there. Three nights before our cruise and two nights after. The rooms we had were small, but clean. The first three nights we had a room on the side and the last two we had one facing the street, but neither time did we notice noise. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful, but I wish they would have told us ahead of time that we needed to place our room card in the slot for the lights to work. The buffet breakfast is substantial for 9 euros, but not worth the 15, so the last two days we did not take it, because breakfast doesn't start until 7:30 and we had to leave for the airport earlier. The Vienna next door is expensive and not much variety, but we found a nice restaurant off La Rambla (turn right on the first diagonal before Placa Catalunya) called Genesta that caters mainly to locals. The prices are reasonable and the amount of food is more than generous. If we return to Barcelona, we will stay at the Hotel Inglaterra again.
“Can't wait to go back”
I had heard some reviews that even though this hotel was on one of the main streets it would be noisy, I have to say though that this wasn't true, our room was great not as big as most of the hotels in the United States but then again I felt we didn't need to have that much space. If your worried about the noise that might come from outside then bring earplugs just in case but I found I didn't need them.
